oh well, can't beat the master...
Dork
_eh_hem.... instead.
graphics associated with the _current_ theme are copied into a folder inside object desktop/desktopx, usually, desktopx/currenttheme. from here you can browse the contents of a theme without renaming/unziping, but be careful with the contents. also, right click on DX, choose 'object browser' to get an idea of the structure. .png's also have limitations on some machines if they are set to 'always on top'. there is a tutorial here http://www.mis-online.co.uk/ grab a them
.dxtheme is already zipped, straight out of themes folder. if the wall is part of the theme(DX settings), yes. DX objects are considered 'common property' if uploaded by creator. -_-
shoot it to me buddy, I'll give it a look see... -_-
or you could just click the little word that says, um, ...zoom... -_-
like when you read message board posts from Hippy, and then stop and wonder what the subject was back at the top... -_-
wanna see some skin? show me some skin. wanna trade skin? get your own skin! whats in a skin? get skinned! read the nick... and stop laughing. -_-
sounds like XP is more of a lease than a purchase... if i buy something, shouldn't it be mine, to do with as i please? set a cup of coffee on play frisbee break in half and do nasty things with the hologram teach my dog fetch microwave plunder pillage hack crack or even, god forbid, hang from the rearview mirror in my car ? -_-
Jafo, did you say 'dorky' buttons? i'm gonna take my toys and go home... -_-
i'm a widdew dork, and so far, i haven't seen enough reason to get into XP. Win2k gives me everything i want, with half the fat. -_-
paxx it works just fine for me using dx...
damnit paxx, i was all over the place looking 'cause thirty4 doesn't have it on their site anymore... -_-
paxx, Dx plug-ins currently only show variations on the current date, but i use rainlendar http://webmail.nic.fi/~rainy/ as a full desktop calendar. It is a LiteSTEP .dll that also has an .exe and can be used with explorer, read the readme on how to setup/autostart/skin it. DaWebMassa, welcome(back)... I am just returning to DX myself and fighting to catch up. Currently working on a port of one of Aleksyadr's WB skins. fun, fun... -_-
/me is waiting for BraDraigidel to drop in here and say "Hay, we just released Convergence for just this sort of thing, why don't you all get in there and check it out!" 'cept his post would be much (much)longer, he he who loves ya' Brad... -_-
BTW, paxx, since you are delving into the DX side, DXtoys is a plug-in found in some themes/objects that in a single plug-in, controls probably 30 or more things. its in the stardock.desktopx.plugins newsgroup.
I hear ya DaWebMassa, this thing has great potential, but jeez! I currently only use it to show current i.p. address. BTW, version 3.5d4 does have a help file included,(DXToys.chm), but I find it a little lacking. Yoran is working on version 3.6 due 'in a week or 2', promising a cleaner interface, as well as some new goodies. AND, all of this is from DX newsgroup, so if I am pointing out the obvious, forgive me. i have had 'some' luck with it, so if i can be of assistance, let me know,
I don't have that specific object, but, if an objects 'true' size, including any transparent parts, is off the screen edge, DX will reposition it to not be off of the screen edge. maybe, i dunno
255 0 255 ?
skinning the right click menu is not an option just yet, but the idea has been bounced around alot.
first Boxxi, and now paxx, DX is pulling in the big boys now... -_-
thanks crae, he asked me to beta test a plug-in he wrote for dx a couple of months ago, but since then, i have been somewhat 'out of pocket'. i'm wondering two things: maybye i shouldn't use the plug-ins(or anything else for that matter, the list is long) he built, out of respect, and who sent him over the edge? let me at 'em!!!!!
I just found this http://www.geocities.com/redllar/ trying to help someone with DX. i don't mean to be nosey, but what happened?
