I am seeing others ask similar questions, but I need some advice myself... Yay! I have three huge battleships. Boo, they are sucking my economy dry. No matter how I configure my sliders, I am still at -200bc a turn. Do I need to scrap these behemoths or just build a ton of econ structures? I usually research econ first so I can get a little ahead of the curve, but it's not really working. I don't think I am expanding too fast either, or am I? I grab 3-4 planets in the beginning and then try

I have a question... I've played several games and gotten some great strategy and help from the boards and while playing with the camera I had a thought... Does the map/game really work in 3 dimensions? If it does, is there a point to taking my ships and structures out of the plane of the ecliptic? I typically play from a 90 degree directly above view, playing with the camera from time to time during battles just to make it look pretty. Am I missing an entire other aspect of the ga

Yes, I know I am behind, but I finally won my first game! Yay me! My only complaint? Wow, did it end abruptly. *Novalith shot* *BOOM* *Here's some graphs* Awww, come on. I need my pat on the back! My image of my crushed opponent in flames! Even some triumphant music! Graphs are neat, but where is my sense of accomplishment? I can get graphs by saving my game and exiting :( Not really a complaint, just an observation. I love the gam

So, I finally managed to get a good strategy going against the computer on normal (mostly thanks to everyone here and reading), but I had an idea. I know that the game frowns on turtling, which was a large adjustment for me. Once I got past that I basically expanded with a few fleets, found the key crossroads worlds, established a strong defense there, expanded again, lather, rinse, repeat. My question is this... what do you do with the old crossroads worlds and your original world c

So, I was happily playing my first Sins game (Normal difficulty) after reading lots of the forum posts. I got past the constant pirate raids, even got to where I didn't even need to monitor those battles. Here's the scenario... I had 5 planets: Homeworld, asteroid world (only 1 way in, through the homeworld), and 3 remote planets (two interconnected). I had two fleets in play, each with 10 frigates, 2 LRMs, and a Kol. I was building up in my newly conquered third system while using the

Hi, everyone. First off, let me say I am a new GalCiv player. I've only played through a few games. I've done a lot of reading first, mostly the newbie guides here in the fourms. I've played all my games as Humans, so far. I was wondering, what is the incentive to choose another race besides Human? I see that each have their own bonuses and such, although they don't look a good as the Human bonuses. I started a game last night as a different race (I can't remember which one) and I seem
