I myself tend to like the slowe pace because it is suppose to be stragey game. But I can understand if you are pressed for time and cant play 3+ hours a fast mode would be nice
[quote who="epiclulz" reply="2" id="1986448"] Here's the thing, it's frustrating, but have you ever dealt with something worse, such as SecuROM? I've never had any problems with SecuROM. In that scenario, which do you find yourself preferring? You're presenting a false dilemma. The truth is, you want to play this game, you just want to get it on the cheap, or even free. I bought it because it happened to be there and because I had he
Im sorry but this whole topic screams of the warz kiddies crying because they can't play online with their hacked copy. Impulse is not DRM you want to see what real DRM is go check out any EA game thats been realeased in the last year or so. Impulse is a downloader you boot it up to get your patch and then its done. You can install your game over and over again as much as you want without fear of being locked out of your game. Unlike when with a true DRM game you only get like 5 install
I wish there was an option to turn unit speech off I remeber some Old RTS games seem to have that option but that trend seems to have been forgoten with these newer games.
I name all mine after ex girlfriends I dont like that way when they get blown up I dont care =) so when I see it come on sceen "HelenisaB" has been destroyed kinda makes me smile
I would add a better stance system for fleets, and add the ability to add patrol paths Ie: say I want a fleet I create to patrol a path between three diff planets.
All I can say is "No" there are more then enough things to worry about while playing this game and have to Micro all my ships while keeping and eye on other things will just make this game nutso to play. Dont get me wrong I love HW2 but in that game I didnt have to manage anything more then my fleet. Where as in this game I have to manage planet defenense expansion, research, ship building and heaven forbid I get attacked by more then one person at the same time which often happens.
Yes Linux is a great Os and Micro$t could take a few notes on how to make an Os from them but I just cant seeing a game dev makeing a version of this game for and OS not many people use.
I agree with the point on the scouts would be nice to have an option maybe at the factory where you could have the ships built with toggled on as they come out. Sometimes I get distracted by something more important and my scouts just end up sitting there doing nothing.
Or go to fileplanet.com who also has the patch or you can use impulse also
I just dont see how the carrier is overpowered. If you have a decent fighter screen along with flak they usually get chewed up pretty well.
[quote]Hi there! Awesome game. A couple of things 1) Large maps and mega wars make cap/scaling off balance: a) The role of capital ships gets dwarfed in a massive battle. b) Planetary defense becomes next to worthless when you have 100+ships attacking. - this makes defensive players sitting ducks. - There is no home team advantage making the game offensively bent. c) Capital Centers influence is not effective enough. 2) The AI seems t
