You know, I think the biggest part of the problem here is communication. A lot of us who are here (and who purchase the non gaming products that Stardock 'occasionally' offers) often feel like we're the afterthought of the business meetings. So, Stardock makes more money from games than from Object Desktop. I can live with that, it's just a fact of life in that world (and I do prefer a world with Stardock in it than one without). I'm not commenting to say t

It's good to hear that you are, at least, thinking about being focused on your business, again (though I hope that the point of that focus is on customization). And, I do understand the appeal (and even the necessity) of getting experts in to focus on certain parts of your business (if it helps you focus on the important stuff, that's even better). But, here's the thing: I'm not a gamer. In any given period, I may purchase 1 or 2 out of every 200 or 300
My problem with the new pricing isnt' the prices themselves, it's the 'blowing happy smoke up your ass' way they're promoting it. Costs and things increase, that's the nature of things, and when you've got a bunch of 'content providers' involved, it gets kind of messy, also. Netflix could have been upfront and said that these kind of changes are needed because of costs and negotiations with the content owners (a
RD, sent you a PM. Will offer what I can, as well. Best wishes to all. :)
It's just the 32 bit version. Might try the 64 version at some point, though.
Updating DX worked. And that dll is in both folders. Thanks [e digicons][/e]
Hmm. I'll give it a shot, thanks! :)
It's interesting that one of the updates is improved compability with the Firefox betas, since for me, after installing it, the betas (both 6 and 7) die right off the bat when launched. Only completely excluding it in Windowblinds allows it to run at all. And both worked fine for me with the previous version of Windowblinds. (Win 7 64bit). Oh well [e digicons]
Great update! :) Here's a minor issue I'm seeing on my laptop: On the little side scroll windows in the animations tab, the item selection is about one animation to the right of where the mouse cursor is (in the image, you can see the mouse cursor, which is where I pressed the selection, and the animation to the right got selected). The display settings on the laptop have the font size set to 125%, which is probably the root of the issue, though I don't see this behavior with
Here's an issue I'm seeing. On a laptop, set to sleep when closing the lid, it fails to wake up when WFX4 is enabled (no issue when not enabled). The effects work fine while the computer is active, but when I close the lid (and put it to sleep), it does nothing when the lid is opened (have to reboot to get the system to work again). Just a possible issue :)
Nice! So far, so good, working quite well on 64bit Win 7. :)
I'm also still seeing the error on trying to install SkinStudio (Error: Error retrieving data). No problems installing WB, apart from no longer seeing transparency for explorer wiindows (which worked fine with the prior version). Beta bugs, I guess :) The speed of skin changes on Win7, 64 bit, is pretty awesome! Can't complain there! :)
Dear Confused, It's only a sprain. Take two beers and call me in the morning. [e digicons]:D[/e] Loukeeya, don't let the naysayers give you pause. The idea that there must be some sort of 'purity' in a community forum is bollocks, and simply shows a complete lack of perspective. Even a cursory examination of the forum topics on this site show a fair amount of diversity, indicating (to anyone with an actual, functioning brain) that there is no reason why someone can't

Okay, that's interesting.
The stretch over monitors option only applies to static wallpapers and video dreams not dynamic dreams.

Dynamic dreams can already treat the entire space as a single workspace if they wish. Likewise video dreams can be stretched to fill multiple screens - just see the stretch over monitors and fill monitors background settings modes.
Which of these answers (both from you) is correct, then? Saying that a dy
Unless there's something odd with the installation, I've got what Impulse says is the latest version (about info pasted below). I see the tabs at the bottom of the UI, but there's nothing there about options (I see, with the Desktop Ripples dream, three tabs, Backgrounds, Dynamic Dream Settings, and Effects). None of these produce an option to stretch over monitors, etc. I get exactly the same results (and apparent lack of those options) when I us
just see the stretch over monitors and fill monitors background settings modes.
I don't actually see any settings in the configuration window that resembles the above. I've got the latest version, according to Impulse, and I don't see those in either the 'Background Options' dropdown, or on any pane of the 'Settings' dialog. Is this maybe a feature that hasn't escaped out to the wild yet? Thanks
Dynamic dreams can already treat the entire space as a single workspace if they wish. Likewise video dreams can be stretched to fill multiple screens - just see the stretch over monitors and fill monitors background settings modes.
Cool. I guess I just didn't notice those settings. Apparently the liquid dream isn't specifically aware of multiple monitors, no matter what background I give it, it gets applied to them all (even if I rename a copy of
More ability to customize and work on multiple monitors. For example, right now I have liquid dream running on three monitors. The way it works now, the effects and the background image are the same on all three (clones), which isn't bad, but I'd like to be able to get a more seamless experience with something like a properly tiled background. Or let me specify a different background (or effect) on any of the different monitors, even if using the same dream. I'd like to be abl
If fact, I am asking the question posed in the title: WHY do I need Multiplicity... over Synergy?
To be honest, if synergy is working for you, you probably don't. I've used both, and I like Multiplicity more than Synergy, and it has several good features (and some that don't really matter to me, and the one really good one that you have to update to Pro for). It has better polish than Synergy, and given that Synergy hasn't been updated in about 4 year
While I'd not comment about it quite as confrontationally as the second commenter, there's a good point buried in there. Essentially, at the time of the inital release of Multiplicity, Stardock *had* indicated that support for other platforms would be forthcoming, but it appears that this goal has been abandoned. Since I don't think that the reason for this is that your programmers are incompetent (they clearly are not), it has to be caused by a 'Windows only' mindset that apparently
If you have Object Desktop, but the Object Desktop discount theme. It comes with a MyColors version, and also has an extra download for the Theme Manager theme.
I did this, and have used the .suite file that was available. I like the theme (very nice graphics and skin coverage), and it works fine on Win7 (no issues, and I'm guessing that if there are any updates, they'll be made available as usual). One minor nit to pick, though, for those who aren't OD subscribers:
Gotta go with the hope for a theme option. I'm not interested in using My Colors. Not to mention that it's been stated (in other forum posts) that My Colors packages will be provided as themes, also. I'm using the deskscape background and it's quite nice. The theme looks very nice, also, but not worth using My Colors for.
I'm seeing a bit of an issue with the last two betas (noticed it on the last one, figured I'd wait and see if it was fixed in the current one, but no such luck). The explorer background transparency isn't working. All other transparent WB parts (titlebars, menus, etc.) work fine, textures work fine, etc., but the explorer background is always opaque (it does show the selected background texture). Even worse, the more I set the slider
