Daiwa: And that idea is insane. To pretend they are looking to Goering for "wisdom" is psychotic at best. Well the idea of Bush himself looking to Goering would be insane yes, because he can't read (I'm just kidding) but someone else in his cubby house might. Actually my point of posting th

Hussein invaded a soverign country, butchered and tortured people there, and then violated terms of the ceasefire that left him in power, over and over and over again. He even fired on our aircraft. So, the idea that we brainwashed people with empty threats is, frankly, stupid. He caused the original war by invading Kuwait, and t

Daiwa, it is exactly that sort of response that people like Bush rely on to control people. You just say "oh well this person is against the government so they obviously have nothing to back them up". All you have to do is look at the facts, the Us versus them Them attitude of the Bush Admin, the attacks against anyone who didn't support the war e.g. the Dixie Chicks etc. and you can see the sort of propaganda at work. Yet again we have a person wh

We wage war with rules, They have no rules. Yeah, rule 1: Make up a reason for going to war rule 2: bomb the shit out of civilians rule 3: Act all suprised when civilians complain about little things like their friends and family (including small children) being killed or severely mamed by s

Or he met a nice lady last night and decided to shag her. He's probably happier with her anyway. ( NOTE: The following needs to be imagined in the voice of some black chick (don't worry about PCness I'm black) in the audience of RIcki Lake . ) Hey hey , ah ah, don't you be down on yo' sel

Don't worry Tex. You are without a doubt one of the hottest women on JU, so don't worry about that. It's the bloody dresses fault! Le dress es le evil. Plan B = Sari, one size fits all. From what I've heard from my mother who did her phD in Hawaii there are plenty of Indian ladies there willing to help you with it.....or you could just alter your dress....or go naked *smacks himself for being sleazy....and kind of enjoys it and hence has to sm

It's amazing you remembered that quote, it's a mouthful! Oh believe me I'm a minefield of useless information, being near me comes with the constant danger of being embedded with the shrapnel of trivia.

"Order is an illusion, Control our comforting lie From chaos, through chaos into chaos we fly" That's a quote from a Arthur C. Clarke, Stephen Baxter co-authored book I once read called The Trigger. They attributed it to some poet but I forget which.

I'd even miss them. Scratch that, they would've never happened, so I wouldn't even realize their loss. I think you tore down your whole arguement with that one line. Besides you could use your logic in the exact reverse. For instance what if Hitler's or Charles Manson's mother decided to have an abort

Toblerone; You are exacly the type of person who shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle. To sum up your attitude "It's ok and expected to hit anyone who is moving slower". Sorry, no. Don't put words in my mouth, I am not saying that murdering people is okay and I resent you implying it. I'm

I don't know. First they try to make out like he's an evil genius that carefully manipulates events to hide his perverted deeds. At the same time he isn't smart enough not to publicise having sleep overs with children. It doesn't make sense, you're either an evil genius or you're naive. You could say that maybe that is how he wants us to think but that isn't exactly the simplest explanation. I think Michael Jackson's sexual pervertion is tha

Someone already did this on another blog a little while ago. It said I should be a Buddist. Actually I score fairly lowly on all the religions compared to other people. Most people get above 80% on the highest ranked religious but I only got about 60%. Oddly enough I scored 25% for Judaism and I happen to be 1/4 Jewish.

Firstly I should I agree with not using your horn on cyclist. I get bloody tempted to sometimes but I don't. However I think in many cases, not all, bicycles shouldn't even be allowed on the road, unless they follow certain rules. I should point out I come from a city with lots of bicycle paths and there is no reason for them to share the road in many cases. Even so I think cyclists should remember this: when they ride on the roads they take t

Thanks, I really do wonder if the references are intentional. It seems like a mighty big coincidence if it is. It certainly wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility that the references are intentional, they are a fairly intellectual sort of band, British, and Hitchhiker's of course started on Radio 4 in England.

My sister used to play "Wow" a lot when I was young. Being a child of the 80's I love it, though I woun'd admit it to anyone I knew in person! It's funny I can't stand overly produced music now but I don't mind 80's synth stuff, despite it being very corny sounding. It must be nostalgic feeling for my childhood. I have a crush on Keren Woodward, she's hot....at least she was at the time they made "Wow".

I, of course, interpret the song completely differently. I think the this song is all about Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Paranoid Android was what they called Marvin the android with manic depression. "Ok Computer" is something that Zaphod would say to the ship's (the Heart of Gold's) computer all the time. As for the line "When I am king, you will be first against the wall" Marvin was built by the Sirius Cybenetic Corporatio

Well perhaps that is true my esteemed friend. However one should not overestimate the number of people who tell anecdotes really well. For instance I've know people who can tell you about something as dull as a trip to the shop and make it sound epic and exciting. Yet others may tell you of something truly interesting and it comes out like someone reading out the telephone directory. At least when you watch Parky you usually get more of the former than

I agree with most of those points except the bit about not taxing the rich more, unless by "more" you mean "excessively". You either tax the rich more with some sort of sliding tax scale, or you end up taxing the poor proportionately more with a flat tax. Tax and spend baby, tax and spend! I don't know what to say about the American health system, except that sometimes I

That's hilarious. One of my funniest bits of classroom conversation was this: My mentor was doing a class for his Year 8's on the anatomy of flowers, I was observing. They were doing a fill in the blanks worksheet and one of the answers was "anther". We went through the answers at the end. The players were Jennifer (bad arse girl, caught with pot not long ago), Junior, Mentor and me: Jen: Sir what was the answer to that last
