This is interesting. One might assume that God is both good and evil, based on the fact that the record shows He sometimes does some good things, or evil things based on our dualist perception of things. The real problem is not evil or good, but the fact that we cannot do what we want to do. We are slaves of something other than good or bad. Aeryck.

I argue the intolerance of some Christians and the specific Christian belief that there is only one way, their way, as well as their willingness to seek legislation to maintain this dominance is, in fact, bigoted and tyranical. You make a very good point. Kingdoms have risen and fallen and our history books tell the tale. According to James Michener from his book 'The Quality of Life' (2000) reckons that; 'In the last two centuries e

There is of course the possibility that KFC got permission from Elwood McQuaid, to use his article; in which case I will surrender a quote of a quote of a quote. I quote Bob Dylan who quoted Samuel Johnson, "They say patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings ." Aeryck.

Well, Adnauseum. JoeUser is pretty unique. You could start a group at MySpace. Traffic there is pretty engaging. Though I cannot see why you don't start a blogg here dealing with Africa. I am sure there are many African's on JoeUser, and as you know JoeUser has a world wide readership. Peace, Aeryck.

I think what you are missing is that everyone has a ticket to ride, it's just that each person has their own appointment with destiny and not everyone wants to be on that train. The richman with no name, had all the opportunities that the poor beggar at his gate did, but the one ended up in hades and the other one in Abraham's bosom. In the end God knows in advance who is going to come along and who is not, so his cut off time would

Jythier, I believe that this was already referenced on another thread...?? Both Matthew 1 and Luke 3 contain genealogies of Jesus. But there is one problem. They are different. Luke's Genealogy starts at Adam and goes to David. Matthew's Genealogy starts at Abraham and goes to David. When the genealogies arrive at David, they split with David's sons:

If these pretty words of mine could become flesh. If I could somehow cease to be and then revive again, maybe I could be what I am not, instead of who I am. I am ?

My mother and father have been gone from this earth sometime now and your current crisis brought back so much of that to my heart. I will spend a little time today praying for you both. May His tender mercies surround you and your beloved.

I got to see the new video last night of the song, by the girl who does the song about wishing to be a punkrocker with flowers in her hair. However; No one moves quite like, Napoleon Dynamite!

I suppose lopping of a bough on a tree, that is infected is pretty easy, but lopping of a hand of a thief, or cutting out the eye of someone that lusts is also pretty radical. But I guess based on your rather strict principles it would be nothing to cut of one's head if one kept having evil thoughts. Or is there perhaps a way that involves more than just rigorous resolve and mind numbing discipline to bring about the life of Christ in the life of a person who is by nature going the wrong way. Wh

I'm trying but this type of thread keeps reminding me of the darkness. I think you will also find that the word church/ekklesia does not really mix well with Spiritualist; they are not of the same family. Certain modern movements, ie: The Church Growth Movement, and the Emergent Church have not made such a clear division, and along with the Ecumenical Unification between the different denominations and world religions, the distinction has all but disap

Glad you learned your lesson, stay away from the darkside. I am not sure if the word Supernatural is correctly associated with the word Spiritual. I am not even sure if there is such a thing as Supernatural, unless ofcourse if you are listening to something by Carlos Santana. I used to look at the anaemic and pasty faces of the goths and witches and practitioners of Theosophy, along with the scary brothers in Free Masonry and the church of Mormon, and

I appreciate what you are saying. It is almost like a bias in a bowling ball. Having been in the music industry most of my adult life, there are many on many varied and different paths into their egos, drowning in excess and the dark elements of a life where many just never grow up. The oneness in spirit that I share with Jesus Christ, pulls according to a different bias, and though at first I used to celebrate with them, eventually I found that crossr

Simply put. Many of these Modern Translations, do not come from the same manuscripts that the King James Bible was translated from. The King James Bible originates from what is commonly known as the 'Received Text' or the manuscripts that had originated from the original writers and been copied and re-copied and duplicated for the wider reading. Many of the Modern Translations come from what is known as the 'Critical Text' basically f
