Windows paints that line using the Button Face/Dialog Background color from the skin. I suppose you could make your Button Face color white, and then you wouldn't see it. There's no way to remove it completely though.

If you participated in the WindowBlinds 6 beta, you probably already grabbed the Optix update weeks ago. If you were not in on the beta however, and just got WB6 since it was released last week, then you may not know that Optix is already updated for it. So, it's news to those people. To be clear, nothing has changed in the skin since the 82107 version. The release version of WindowBlinds has simply caught up to the skin. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif
WindowBlinds 6 is the first version to fully support skinning of most aspects of Vista. Given that it's only been out for about a week, it will take time for a vast collection of Vista specific skins to build up. So far, there are a few created by people who beta tested WB6, and a few created by Stardock Design. In the meantime, as Zubaz said, any skin created for XP will work on Vista. There will just be some elements that aren't skinned, or will retain the default Aero look.
kin242, Optix has been updated for WB6. You just have to redownload it.
Glenn: Open up the WindowBlinds Configuration window and go to the WindowBlinds skin list (not the sidebar skin list). Below the skin preview, click the Skin Options link, and select select Rebuilt List from the menu. That should refresh both the WindowBlinds skin list and the Sidebar skin list. Philly0381: It only skins the sidebar that is already there in Vista. It can't create one on another OS.
Sidebar skins go into the WindowBlinds directory just like WindowBlinds skins. Currently, they need to be unzipped there manually. You will need to refresh your WindowBlinds skin list before a newly unzipped sidebar skin will show up in the list. As far as I know, there is only one sidebar skin available at the moment. It's called Two Sidebar Skin, and it comes installed with the WindowBlinds 6 beta.
In short, it can't be done in any consistant or reliable way. Usually, only the outer few pixels of the groupbox image are painted, and the middle is filled in by Windows (using the button face color). Occasionally, Windows won't fill up the whole center, and only fill behind the parts that have text or other objects. When that happens, the groupbox tends to look like a sloppy patchwork. The best approach is to simply skin the borders of the groupbox. You do get a few more pixels
If you open the Optix (Vista) skin in SkinStudio, and look at the Unsupported section at the bottom of the list, you can find a few other currently skinnable Vista bits. That would also help you track down the images I used for each section if you need to figure out what sizes to make things.
You need these in your UIS file. [Vista.Shell] Image=SkinName\vistashell.bmp [Explorer.InfoPane] Image=SkinName\explorer_infopane.bmp Vista.Shell is the top bar (the one with Organize, Views, etc.) This appears to be what the bar2.bmp image is for. Of course, you can call the images any name you want. Explorer.InfoPane is the bottom bar (the one at the bottom with the big icon and the file information.) Does that help?
I'm too slow.
Click on the Settings link up by your user info on the top left column (you might have to leave the forum to see that section). Then, click on the orange Registrations tab and see if those skins are listed there. If not, you probably will have to wait until people come back to work tomorrow.
Well deserved, I.R. Congratulations!
Also, you can hold down the Ctrl key and spin your mouse wheel to resize them.
What you are seeing is that the skin author was using an icon package when they made the screenshot of their skin. Icon packages are not typically included with WindowBlinds skins though. You have to download them separately. Check out the Icon Packager library here at WinCustomize and keep in mind you need the program Icon Packager in order to use them.
It's when someone has linked to your screenshot from another web site.
It might be good to make a list of what actually needs updating. The WindowBlinds skin does for sure, but lots of those apps haven't been changed in years or don't even exist anymore.
Nick, awesome Jack O'Trooper. Zubaz, nice buns. tee hee RomanDA, if you came trick or treating at my house, I would give you all the candy.
Great work, everybody. Congratulations!
WebGizmos, it's not really an update to Apogee, it's a bonus set of Halloween themed Apogee icons. They're included with the suite, which you can find under Subscriber Resources. Prophetizer, the gadgets that make the eerie sounds are part of the free Halloween desktop. See the first link in the article, just below the "eerie sounds" bit.
Sounds to me like skins2.wincustomize.com, which is one of several servers that host WinCustomize screenshots, was accidentally (or maybe intentionally) password protected for a period of time. It appears to be back to normal now though.
You won't be able to add that extra button on the far right of a per-pixel titlebar. Only the standard 3 and the default system icon are supported. You're going to run into trouble with hard coded black text on many dialogs if you keep that dialog background color. Also, WindowBlinds can't group together the toolbar icons like that, and Windows can't do oval combo boxes like that. Some things to think about before you get too far. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/guichamps/smiles/Wi
Yes, ObjectDock Plus does allow you to position your dock on a second monitor.
It ain't over 'till it's over. I expect the WindowBlinds entries will pick up any day now.
Happy birthday, Larry!
The taskbar height can be increased or decreased by adjusting the content margins on your task buttons and quicklaunch buttons. If you increase the content margins on those buttons, the taskbar will get taller to allow more room, and vise versa.
