I saw this in a game yesterday. I went to go talk to the vegans only to discover that they were running around with Doom Rays while no one else had gone beyond the 2-damage weapons. Fun trading with them to get it, but still a little off-putting.

I picked up GC2 in the bargain section at a local game store, having never heard of stardock. Now I've bought one expansion pack and pre-ordered another, will almost certainly be buying any future stardock releases, and recommend the company and game to all my friends. If you folks can keep churning out high-quality games like this, I can see you easily becoming the next Blizzard given time. Thanks for everything. :)

I've been messing around more with the Torians of late, but I have absolutely no problems using them to flip Yor planets like nobody's business. The loyalty bonus simply isn't nearly enough to balance out the loss of influence as it stands right now.

Yes, it probably makes sense from the vantage point of the game's lore, but the problem is that there doesn't seem to be anything to offset the loss. I don't mind having the Yor or any other race missing one or two conquest strategies available to the other races, but they really do need something to make it so it isn't just a pure loss. They already have significant morale issues and lack access to the advanced governments. Unless there's something absolutely fantastic that I'm simply not seein
They do need to be a major race.
This is so amazingly true. The Jagged Knife event almost inevitably produces the largest race in the Galaxy with the best technologies and ships. I have NEVER been able to understand the rationale that they aren't a major race.
Yeah, charging stalks = 0 morale improvement once you take the extra population into account.
Definitely this. My morale hovered around ~50% for pretty much the entire game, and that was with a maxed out morale bonus from the choice of abilities before you begin a game. When you add in that they only have one +econ per planet and they're incapable of using the advanced governments, the Yor can find themselves in the hole pretty

Two bugs for the Yor I've noticed so far, both dealing with their energy stalks: -The last upgrade of the stalks isn't overriding the version below it. -The base stalk takes 0 weeks to build even on a world with no Industry upgrades.
As I understand it, their technology is supposed to be focusing on quantity over quality (such as ship components that are less effective, but far cheaper). I'm not really seeing a whole lot of that. Maybe they could have a line of techs specifically for decreasing ship cost (something along the lines of "mass fabrication" would do wonders).
Definitely this. Unless I'm missing something major, they seem to have generally the same
Besides, only certain civs should enjoy the benefits of tourism. The way I see it I can't imagine any "future" tourist wanting to go visit the Drengin slave pits, considering they most likely will not return to tell the tale
Denying evil races like the Dregnin access to a major component of the game's

I agree that it's kind of ridiculous as it stands now. Economic buildings almost seem a waste of tiles with the levels of profit tourism is bringing in, especially when you consider that you don't really have to do much to get tourism. I'd rather see trade get boosted, honestly. That way it seems more like you're working for your money, and it gives players more of an incentive to attack trade routes and try to disrupt their opponents' economies.

-The new evil research tree for the Dregnin isn't chained properly. You can skip straight to researching the second to last one in the path if you want. They're also displaying in a vertical stack at the top of the Dregnin research page, which is kind of annoying. -Also, though the Korath start with the first of the new evil research path, I can't find the actual tech that grants it anywere. Nor can I find any of the subsequent techs in that chain, though whether that's a deliberate cho
