If you want the taskbar skinned, you'll need to use a DesktopX theme with that type of widget built in. Otherwise, Windowblinds is an option.

I have just tried using the option you mention, used iSkin and Cyclops taksbars with my own skin, and failed to replicate what you describe. And the "font" throws me off. I've used both EZ and MS AntiSpyware. Do you have a registry checking/monitoring program running? Have you tried eliminating startup apps, turning them on one by one? There was another thread in which the same problem was happening and after a few weeks of hard-core investigating, the user found that one of his security programs was blocking a major registry change needed for WB. I can't remember if it was a backup and restore program or a firewall

WB4 and WB5 should not be installed at the same time on the same machine. Instead of hacking the directories, try installing the product in the appropriate manner.
