Display Change ? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I am new to playing this game. My only concern is that after playing for half an hour or so the Menu Display changes to a diferent style. I know it has to be part of the game but i do prefer the graphics before the change. I would just like to know why it changes and is there anything i can do to stop it. Still a cracking little gem of a game though!
