Has anyone written a walkthrough for the GalCiv writer? It looks like I've installed in correctly, but I don't know how to get the changes I've made to show up in my games, even ones I've started from scratch after making the changes. (And yes, I remembered to turn mods on in GalCiv's option menu.)

In my current game, I've got all the AI's set to Bright, and despite lagging behind them in most areas, I still get 'They think we're practically gods', which I'm pretty sure is because I go heavy with diplomacy picks. And yes, I've noticed that they'll accept deals that are green and won't accept ones listed in yellow. I try and get every last credit and tech I can in trades.
In the diplomacy screen, if you press the button in the center (it has a picture of a flag) it lists three things, one of which is 'Diplomatic Evaluation'. It only seems to say 'They think we're practically gods.' and one other message, something about if we say this isn't the robot, they'll nod their heads and say this isn't the robot. Has anyone gotten any other result, like something negative? And does this indicate there is some sort of bonus or penalty to diplomacy at the time?
I think that was only true for when this game was in beta.
This is rather odd... more than once I've had a random event where the good choice has a smaller penalty for chosing it than the neutral option. (And I don't just mean a different type of penalty that isn't as important (like money vs research), it's the same type, just a smaller negative number.)
I want to make a mod that uses all entirely new ships. How can I make a mod that doesn't include any of the originals?
Hi everyone, I have a few questions: Do military resources boost your ships defense and offense, or just offense? What is it that shipyards and quality control centers do? It says it provides a bonus to starships built there. It doesn't seem to increase hitpoints, does it increase offense? Defense? Both? One more thing: It seems that ships in orbit seem to get a bonus to offense and defense. How is this calculated? P.S. Yay! Thanks to the last game I sub
Does anyone know if it is still possible to get this graphic? The site the link leads to doesn't seem to have it anymore. I was just thinking of adding more missile type units as a mod.
The menu display changes if your civilization becomes really good or really evil. The choices you make in the random events can make you more good or more evil. The top choice makes you more good, the bottom choice more evil. The middle choice keeps your civilization the same. The display starts as neutral. To stay neutral, always pick the middle choice in random events.
Are minor civs AI always set to normal? Since I'm new to this game, I always set the major civs to a fairly low intelligence. However, it seems that the minor civs leave us in the dust, colonizing big sections of the galaxy, developing massive amounts of influence, and although I've only played a few games, I've seen minor civs building enough ships to give them military ratings of 300, 500, and one time even 800! Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can deal with them?
In the player setup screen where you choose which winning conditions are enabled, there is one that is not listed in the manual: "Alien Tech Victory". Could someone explain that one to me?
I just thought that by reporting things that could be fixed, I'd be contributing something to this game's community. Every time I get hooked on a new game, I tell myself I'll pitch in, but I never seem to get around to doing it. I really need to break myself of that habit. :p
Hello everyone, I'm new to GalCiv, having purchased and downloaded the game just yesterday. I thought I'd just drop in and say hello to everyone. Even though I'm in the middle of my first game, I've feel pretty confident this game won't be a disappointment like Master of Orion 3 was. There is one question I have though, does GalCiv (not including AP) still get patched? I've noticed a few minor spelling and grammar mistakes (I tend to focus on little details) and was wondering if I sho
