In typography, normally there is only one space after a period; when you write a manuscript, it has 2 spaces usually. So if you are writing a paper for a class, or writing the manuscript to be typeset by other, it should have 2 spaces; the actually published material will have one however.

A better music reference would have been "Houston: We have a drinking problem."
Who knows, maybe there would be a technological limitation--during combat, ships cannot start hyperdrives. So once you start fighting, you are stuck fighting. Plus it is a lot easier to code
The color schemes change the feel a lot. If you paint a WWII U.S. cruiser with Royal Navy camo, it will look a lot more like its British cousins than its technical sister ships. Therefore, I am not too worried about hulls.
I found it a lot slower than how I was used to playing in GC1. It was not worse, just different. It also felt more "zoomed in" than GC1. It was like looking at pieces on a chessboard in 1; in 2 it is more like getting briefings from the Admiralty. And yes, getting your economy rolling is obviously critical, but it was in 1 as well. Though this time, it is all about specialized planets (like Civ IV's cities).
Hehe. I love you guys. If anyone does file a class action law suit filed against you, I will volunteer my time pro bono to help with the defense (provided I pass the bar this summer and all that).
Good plan. Now just delay release for 2-3 months to work out a quickie mini-game. Then you can play it during those last few days before release (in 2-3 months).
You send a constructor each time. Just like in the original. Think about it as a ship carrying a premade module and the ship is salvaged as well to add to the base.
Download of most (but not all) of the files will start this week. You won't be able to play until release. This has been covered elsewhere.
If you ever played Stars!, you saw where defenders did not have an advantage. This only worked because you had planetary bombers that could kill millions of people each turn. Otherwise, you lost one "soldier" (i.e.,man, women, children, toddler or baby) for each of the enemy's. So war without bombers meant culling your population by basically a planet to take a planet. Not cool. So either you give a bonus to attackers or you give bombers. Otherw
Unlikely to happen. I mean, if you can make any race any alignment, why not any party?
Um, AWACS is a real thing, not just in games. Link
It seems like at least giving you a heads up on what was going to be submitted would be pretty easy to add as an update. Only one step beyond that would be to get your friends to tell you how they were going to vote. So Proposition X is going before the UP in 4 weeks. You call up your buddies, the Yor Collective, and see how they were going to vote. Then you are more likely to get the result you want (say Proposition X was a tax on starbases outside the owner's influence; you want to see a t
Frogboy, I love you. Even when I disagree with a decision Stardock makes, I respect the fact that you are always so up front about the whole thing. Kudos to you and everyone on the production team. You have my heartfelt sympathy for the disaster that release always is; hopefully a few good words will help to keep you and the team sane.
Fly to the U.S. to pick up a copy?
I dunno... usually I put a processor in my gaming rigs...
Any company that has any retail distribution in the State requires that you pay sales tax. Since EB has stores in every state, you must pay sales tax if your state has a sales tax. This is how it has always been; maybe you have not purchased from major retailers before online.
I have been thinking a lot about how to deal with custom ships in CG2 and wondering what the devs will do. My thought is (with all respect toward the nascent logistics system) is to have a cost per military rating. Why? Well, if you have it per ship, you will have people looking to minimize costs through strange roundings up and down to maximize their fleet through odd loopholes. How? Well, why not take a freighter filled with every type of armor known
I would think ideally the single player and multiplayer games should be identical tactically, i.e., if turns are simultaneous MP, they are in SP as well. Length of game is an issue, but not if you play medium maps. And while a community might be nice to look for players, I think most people will end up using the MP function for coop play in something like the Altarian Allies (I think the name is, from Altarian Prophecy where Terrans and Alterians fight si
Well I enjoyed GC1 a lot, so I was excited to play 2. I love the way things are looking and generally I am very happy (though I am a little worried about the new weapon type thing, but we will see when it gets more playable. I do wonder though: is there any talk of hotseat or internet play? Hotseat in MOO2 was a lot of fun, so if possible, that would be an amazingly cool thing to have (since my friends and I already spend a lot of time comparing notes on o
