I think I made the mistake of taking out the home planet first, as the longest oldest planet the culture never faded away to allow me to colonize it, I'll reload and try another outlying planet first and try and crack into the system that way.
Orion03
I am playing a single player campaign and I've jumped into another star system, the AI there has control of the whole star system and his culture is very high, so even after I have taken over a planet, I can't colonise it because his culture is too high, I tried to isolate a whole chain of planets to see if I could get his culture low enough to colonise something but it didn't seem to work. Maybe I couldn't isolate the planet enough? the map didn't allow easy isolation. What can I do?
have a look in the menu/options ... Close zoom = z middle zoom = x far out zoom = c zoom in = v zoom out = b and the arrow keys pan the map around. I'm playing mostly on a laptop too.
I have noticed in the Beta 3 that when you have the sun selected then the "z" key to zoom in close and the "x" key to middle zoom is reversed. i.e. "x" zooms in close and "z" is the middle zoom. I did a quick search and couldn't see if anyone had posted this before.
It's already Thursday 4pm in Australia !
Thanks, you are right, I am downloading the game right now.
Hi guys, I am already a Total Gaming member, would it be possible for me to just buy some more tokens, and download the Beta 2 right away? This looks like such a cool game and I am keen to try it out right away.
did you run out of $$?
I rushed to the center planet, rushed research labs, got to troop transports and sent 3 with escorts to the target planet, put a star base down for the final needed range, and took the planet as the DL were taking my planets. Very quick game and I spend all the $$.
Ah ha, I turned off the hardware mouse option and my movies play smoothly now.
I've got an Athlon 3200 with an Nvidia 6600GT with the latest drivers and the intro movie skips. Yet it plays fine on my Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop with ATI9600 video card.
I have win XP, Nvidia 6600GT, normal windows mouse cursor, and yes mine went invisible too. I will try hardware mouse option tonight.
Ah thanks for that tip, I was wondering why my middle mouse didn't work too !
I was running 1366x768 on my plasma TV and on full screen in the tutorial the bottom got cropped too.
I have a 6600GT card and yes my mouse cursor became invisible which needed a reboot of the PC. I was just using the stock standard mouse cursor, no modifications at all. It was a Logitech blue tooth mouse.
