Thanks, will do!

Hi everyone, it's been awhile hasn't it? Well, I'll just cut to the chase here so I can keep ripping my ever-balding head, mmkay? Today I burned myself a working ISO CD of Kubuntu, eager to try it out. The Live CD had worked great, and I was eager to get started with the real deal! Anyway, I install Kubuntu on my 80-gig external HDD (not wanting to risk repartitioning my C-drive), and it all goes smoothly. Packages unpack, install, etc. Anyway, it
Hmm....well it would seem that after installing the updates the handle count skyrocketd, but now how to bring it down the rest of the way? P.S. Thanks anyway, I'm glad I got noticed at least
Indeed, thanks! It helped me trim it a bit down to 8000. I'm still not sure how those extra 2000 got there, but it's progress nonetheless!
As most have you have probably noticed, I haven't been here much recently. Again, it has been because of my blasted laptop (though I must say its constant slew of problems does keep one's skills sharp). This time there has been a GIGANTIC handle-usage growth. My laptop at one time used a mere, stable 6000 (give or take 100 or so), however now that number has jumped from anywhere from 12,000-16,000 (nothing changed to my knowledge)! This of course is
As far as Apple and Macs themselves go, I like them. In my experiences with an iMac and Mac Mini, I liked them, plain and simple, I might even get one someday (for a server and such). But....as said here what I don't like is when Mac-fanatics claim that they flat-out INVENTED things they simply did not. They made good adaptations yes, but give credit where it is do! So I guess it's more like this, I like Macs, just not the Mac fanatics
sorry, diuble post
Thanks, I'll try to find a good, cheap 20GB HDD today.
Right now I'm leaning towards Small Business... I don't think I'll need Home Premium (just based from my needs, I don't use/need Media Center Edition, though who knows what'll happen?). Then again I might get Ultimate, but I'll wait to see exactly WHAT comes with it when the info is released.
Lately my XPS has been heavily used to store files from my other 6 computers (just as a backup), but now I've begun backing up all of my media to it as well. My problem is, I simply have TOO much of it! Now, the original media itself (the copy I listen to/watch)is stored on an external HDD), and so I'll usually just use that (as opposed to the XPS copy). What I'd like to know is whether or not I could possibly compress the media files (like Winzip do
microsoft says that it is going to have updates for xp to bring it up to the level of vista but they are still vague about what exactly they plan to do for updating xp. Yeah...that is a bit vague...who's going to buy Vista then? Well it's good that they're doing it nonetheless, it means I can w
WHOA?!? Good deal there, at least in my opinion, I paid more for my P4 3.4 GHz, WITHOUT the motherboard....then again that was in last March...and you know how fast technology moves these days.
My god that's alot of errors haha, yay for me.....
So yeah, it's about 1 am where I am now, and my insomnia has set in I fear, so why not make a little post eh? I'm interested in seeing just what people have installed as far as games on their computer, I have to do something here Well, for starters, I have: 1. Half-Life 2 2. Battlefield 2 3. Wing Commander: Prophecy
Thanks! But right now I'd say nice "morning"
I WISH! I haven't had the pleasure of new car smell in quite some time now sadly....somehow my Yugo GV is still on its last legs >_
I'd agree to upgrade to XP, it's just odd to me how bad people say it is. I've been using it on my Dell machine (bought ME in early 2001), and...because the comp is never connected to the network, it's NEVER had an update, but strangely enough I've NEVER EVER ONCE had an error of ANY kind. It boots fast, opens apps faster than XP (well...apps that were made for ME, XP apps are indeed slower, but then again I use Grapher 3, Lotus, and WordPerfect 8, s
Ok, I am SO doing this!
You know, speaking of this Drivescan is no longer showing up in my listing for whatever reason.
maybe next round Apple will be developing their own gaming system too (lol) And it'll have a gigantic library of 3 whole games too! Haha, oh wow, and Apple system, would they claim they invented the controller ? An
Thanks for the reminder
Oh ho! Xero THAT's a good idea! Except wouldn't it only be $35? Since of course the person making the suite probably has a current ODNT? I might just very well put in a donation, I was going to subscribe myself, but since I dont' skin I'll give it to someone who can, but I'd like to know the particulars first.
What the heck's happened to that place I used to call "home" for skinning? Heck customize.org was the place where i was first introduced to Stardock products (while I was looking for blackbox themes, but of course I've stopped using that ages ago), but the place has really seemed to go downhill. It now seems to be predominately a bunch of MS bashers, minimalist-hackers, and piraters....ah how I hate piraters <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smil
Also! ... Pat on the back for us geeks! ... We ARE cool dammit! RIGHT ON! And those who think differently are sure in for it, the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world
There's always the chance I went a bit overboard with the pricing. The default price for a Gen2 is about $2500 and the 7700 is $2800, and come with similar specs to your Sony. But nonetheless does it really run smoothly? My friend has a 7700 and it plays Doom 3 at 78fps, can one really play it that well with a 128 0_o, well well, good thing I waited to buy anoher comp!
