if you give them all a relationship status before you start the game (warm, hostile, whatever) they will all show up. but then they just all declare war, so be ready to fight you way off of your home planet.

there should also be more ups and owns to belonging to the up or leaving it.
why would you bump a test thread???
on point 2, my find button didn't work until i updated to the newest version. it still doesn't work sometimes.
sometimes i have like 4 slots left and i would like to fill it in. too small for shields life support, and espcially any weapon. even though i have a 3rd or 4th tier weapon that takes up 8 slots, and the outdated tech isn't streamlined or improved at all. but that's not the point. in the 70's we built computers that took up a whole room and used punch cards. now that we can build cellphones with more power than one of the original computers, we don't still use an entire room to build a pc now be
also, i used the money cheat and i have fed a total of around 500 000 bc to the terrans and they still lose ground and still don't like me in just 10 turns. if someone gave me a bunch of money, i wouldn't hate them in a few minutes.
oh and the link didn't work.
ok, most of this is before i even researched xeno ethics, so i didn't have an alignment yet. i didn't research trade yet either. i got tired of evryone always attacking me, so i used the money cheat. it takes about 5000bc every 10 turns or they start getting angry. the only way i have been able to keep them at bay is by throwing rediculous money at them or by haveing a superior military. i found out that trade actually matters when the arcean were that last ones to declare war and th

am i missing something, or are the other races really hatefull. they all attack all of the time. it take a rediculous amount of money to keep them happy. why does the relation status drop so quickly???
1 - i found a spelling error in the drengin espionage report. "impressive abilities....blah blah blah...--->numaric (*numeric*) 2 - the map doesn't always move to a ship when it is the ships turn to move. i see find, but it doesn't seem to work. the map never moves. am i missing something??? 3 - when invading a planet, it tells you that you have developed a tech before it tells you that you have stolen it.
shouldn't tech like ship components get cheaper as higher level techs are developed??? when i'm building a laser 3, shouldn't laser 2 get a little smaller and cheaper??? and then laser one should be dirt cheap and a lot smaller than it originally was. later in the game a laser 1 is useless, but if allow the above to happen, then we could put like 10 laser ones on a fighter, and it would pack a little more of a punch. it would also make all the previous techsuseable late in the game.
just after i posted my last post about up proposals, i played a game with all 9 races on a gigantic map. i always set some sort of relationship level at the begining of the game so that all races are involved in every meeting regardless of whether i have run across them or not. at the 2nd up meeting, a proposal was put out for a galactic cease fire, even though no one was at war. then, about an hour later, in 3 turns every race except the altarians and terrans declare war on me. so
are we going to be able to submit proposals to the u.p.??? i really get tired of being the little guy with 50000 votes and i get 400 000 votes saying i need to donate 10% of my income to everyone else, and i never get to submit anything to get one of the others to pay out. or being able to submit a galactic cease fire, or trade protection. is there any way that we will be able to submit proposals from a list or something??? it'd be a lot cooler if we could!!!
it happens to me too. i will be building a ship and usually it happens when i accidently put a part in the wrong place (because the red dots show through the hull when they are on the other side) and i go to remove the misplaced part, it won't come off, then the build screen locks into place. i can bring all of the othe screens up except the map. i can even bring another build screen up.
it would be nice to terraform unusable tiles into usable. even if it has to be done in long stages.
it just needs another tab for obsolete weapons.
thanks man. you've been a big help. i didn't even know about smart exception.
is smartexception how you read the debug.err file??? it has the unknown program icon.
yes, i downloaded the media files, and i have installed it with the cd. normal difficulty. it's a custom map. could that be a problem??? my specs are in the first post, second paragraph. sempron 2600 nvidia geforce2 mx200 1 gig pc3200 ram updated stardock, galciv, nvidia driver, directx 9.0c am i missing anything??? i have plenty of hard drive space. 31 gig of 37.2 gig free
at this point i have totally reformatted my hard drive. i have installed galciv from cd and stardock, and altarian prophecy from stardock only. i've tried different directories, like strategy first, totalgaming .net, and some others. i've tried puuting them oon a different hard drive, i've tried putting them in the same directory, and tried putting them in different directories by installing galciv from the cd, and altarian prophecy installed from stardock in the default location. i've tried new
it has been freezing on autosaves, and changing turns, but the biggest problem is that i haven't had any random events, only one up meeting in a very long time, and none of the choices when you take over a planet none of the options that determine your alignment aren't there. no video, no questions, just some squggles where the 3 options should be. this game worked fine up until a few days ago. since then i have reinstalled the game (both galciv and altarian prophesies) several times, and even r
a couple of other things that would be nice.... - being able to raise issues at UP meetings. that way i can have a vote to outlaw a terror star if i know my enemy is building one. -it would be nice to be able to copy and paste a sector in the map editor, or mirror sides, that way you only have to design one side and it would all be symetrical.
a few things that would be nice...... 1 - being able to choose a minumum planet class when making a custom map. 2 - being able to choose the probability for there being a planet at a star. sometimes i would like to play a game where there are all killer planets at almost every star. or having few planets, but every one is a paradise. i know you can do this manually, but on a large map it takes a long time. (yes i know the star determines this, but i want a set minimum.) <br
