Actually, I think snowman noticed (guessed?) that the file name is: dietmarhehmann.bei.t-online.de/ D esktop_o.jpg not dietmarhehmann.bei.t-online.de/ d esktop_o.jpg And then recognised the skin...

joetheblow - imagine if you didn't have a car and didn't have the money to pay for a train/bus ride, but that you wanted to see the world...There's a wanderlust in many people that's hard to ignore, and hitch-hiking is a way to satisfy that for little/no cost. I have a friend who used to travel everywhere hitching. She only really stopped when she could afford her own car. It's also a better way to really experience the travel rather than just getting from A to B as you'd end

I think the answer is that like many things in life, we've got a dispropotionate sense of how dangerous something is from seeing sensationalist media on it. The fact is that you're more likely to die while travelling in a car crash (or bike etc) than you ever would be of being killed by some mad axe man. You're probably more likely to be killed by lightning while waiting for a lift! (I've not checked the stats on that though). I've given lifts to a number of hitchhikers over t

I've duplicated the clipping using Photoshop and the skin I'm working on, although it's only clipping the left corner by a few pixels and doesn't affect things too much so I can live with it. But knowing that specifying your own graphic solves it is good news...and hopefully a solution

Hmmm, I don't have Fireworks installed currently or else I'd take a quick look...I'm expecting a new laptop in a week or so, and I'll probably re-install Fireworks MX once I have that...maybe someone else can help out before then

Satans Child - it's not pathetic...I've spent longer than that fighting various bits of SS and WB recently, and still not managed to get them to work. The All Programs thing is a bit odd (I assume you mean the tip of using a large arrow graphic to cover the text area?)...most skins don't use it, and quite possibly because it's tricky to get right

/me suspects that DWatson has changed the graphics, but hasn't then re-zipped the folder and changed the name back to .wmz and applied the skin. But I could be wrong. /me is also worried by the tone of the offers to "exchange" things

Jafo - not necessarily...if string theory were to be correct, then it would mean there are more than 3 spacial dimensions, but that the higher ones are "wrapped up tightly" such that we don't perceive them....and no, I can't imagine what that means exactly, but that's what Hawkins etc assure us BTW - string theory is currenly in a bit of crisis, but even the other challenging theories tend to predict

joetheblow - physists are unsure how many physical dimensions there are. Various theories predict more than the 3 spacial dimensions we are familiar with though. Most string theories need at least 8 dimensions for the maths to work, but some of them need up to 15. Non of these have been solidly established as yet though, and it's all right at the cutting edge of science so expect the theories to change yet. I think the more esoteric theories requiring more than 15 dime

Oh, BTW...PSP can also run macros, and it can be told to apply them to a whole list of files all at once - I've used this in the past to create thumbnail views etc. So, if fireworks won't play ball, you might want to invest in the excellent value PSP? (and no, I don't work for JASC )

EvadWarren - Doesn't Fireworks support macros to record the actions needed and make it fairly quick? I've set up little recoreded actions in PhotoShop to downsize a load of graphics in the past, and from what I remember using Fireworks, it has a similar feature? A little time finding out how to do this through macros might save many hours of tedium in future if it is possible

There's a section for throbers in SkinStudio when working on Window Blinds, but I can't say I've tried it to make sure if it works. I vaguely remember reading something in the history file for either SS or WB saying that the feature had been removed, but I'm not sure on that. If you have SkinStudio and WB, give it a go and let us know

They still seem to be there: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?authorid=686551 However, the ratings are all pretty low, so if you're not logged in (or are a level 2 user I think) then you won't see them. There's a filter so that only things with a relatively high rating are visible to everyone.

Styl skinner - in law, it wouldn't matter if no one remembers the prior use as long as it could be demonstrated, which if can be. The advice we're giving is that useing a name with established prior use in the same field as you intend to use it for is not just "a bad idea", it's open to legal action. Now, they may not decide to do anything, but you can't start out in business using a name and knowing that at some point you may have to change all your promotional matterial

Yep...I've done that for various Bank scam phish e-mails I've seen. Has anyone else noticed how they tend to deviously send most of these things late on a Friday afternoon too? Seems it's part of the social engineering as people at work will tend to think "Oh! I'd best do that before I go home" and then not think about it till after the weekend. That way, they can maximize the time they have to exploit the info, and the bank/paypal etc has less staff (I assume) to take steps against
