True, perhaps it is de-valuing a high school graduation, but I think this has more to do with ritual than academic achievement. Perhaps it signifies the higher expectations waiting for them in middle and high schools. I think a ceremony of this nature is appropriate when the child is leaving one school for the next. btw - my current fave is Elvis Costello - always challenging and rewarding. Generally, I will not listen to heavy metal, hip hop or countrypolitan, but honestly, there's something good in each of those genres. Best to keep an open mind- you never know whne you'll hear your next favorite.

My fear is that I will lose control on a freeway overpasses going to the left and turn the wheel in the opposite direction and drive off the overpass. It is very embarrassing and somewhat crippling. I am supposed to face this fear before I meet with my psychologist again, but I'm having a hell of a time doing it. Knowing that all fear is irrational doesn't help lessen the fear.
