Well if your penis is nicknamed Napoleon I hope your GF or wife isn't Lorena Bobbitt. Because if you made her mad she might cut your Bonaparte. too-shay!

I think your use of the circus as a metaphor for all the shiny, uninformed dreams of youth is well-placed. The closing sentiment Is this what they had pictured when they ran Away to join the real live circus? is as eloquent a realization of the chasm between the dreams of youth and the realities of life as I have ever read. You is one fine writer.
Seeing how easily people's feathers can get ruffled, I hope that we never rely solely on instinct.
Esquire forgot one item: #60. Never let any magazine attempt to define adult masculinity for you. Sounds like this magazine wants all men to be old stuffy, inflexible prigs. BTW, my variation on #5: I named mine Napoleon because he is short, insane and wants to rule the world.
Could be worse - mine started off that way. Link On the bright side, she's a hell of a writer. Hug the hell out of her.
My sympathies to you. I'll think of you and your family today and send up a prayer. Thanks for a well-written piece.
Gritty, dreamlike and desperate. Well done.
it symbolizes youth, sexiness, fertility, all that good stuff. and long hair on a woman is another reminder of her difference. (I know men can have long hair and earrings, and I'm showing my socialization and biases, etc. , but since you asked...) I love women who are strong, intelligent, sensitive, heroic, and who look different than men.
I am always dumbstruck by her beauty especially when doing the simplest of things like comforting a child she is soft yet strong and always willing to do the right thing even if she doesn't know what it is she heroically puts everyone and everything before herself and I admire that sinc
Most people are not true hypocrites, but many are ethical contortionists.
This has a wildness I like - lately you've been more bold in your use of imagery - very good
I liked the brevity of it, and the obscurity lends it an interesting tone
Sure, but how do you think I feel? I had to get married to even be possibly considered one of the "good ones" (seeing as my not being gay, dead or a priest kept me out of the running).
My wife has hundreds of pictures of the kids in box after box after box some indistinguishable from others and my brother has a stack of over 500 DVDs that he ripped and burned after renting them from NetFlix that he'll someday get around to watching and I found this shareware that'll give me 2
Very cool. My 9yo has a Jones for "West Side Story" and broke into "The First Cut is the Deepest" last week when I was playing guitar. She's my future Laura Nyro.
I do not like composing at the computer. It looks too neat, too perfect the first time out. If I write by hand then I know it won't be perfect the first time - I know I'll have to edit it and rewrite it at least once, which improves my writing. However, the idea of trying to decipher my own handwriting gives me a headache, so that's a strike against handwriting. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
I used to wonder what was the beautiful exotic scent my wife wore - I've since learned that it's Secret deodorant. She still smells great to me.
Best wishes to you both! This is the beginning of a great adventure.
Then again, being male ain't all beer and skittles Link . I join your salute to all expectant mothers everywhere!
Thanks for the compliment.
They're a different breed those who can sleep through the alarm clock and stumble through the door drunk and forgetting to bring dinner they drive their cars and don't pay the registration and they stuff parking tickets in their glove boxes they don't stress over jobs if they have them and they let t
Beautifully put. This has the wisdom, the weight, of having lived and been disappointed by the lie. As I firmly plant my tuchcus in middle age, reliability and warmth sound very very appealing. Thanks
This was absolutely beautiful. Sorry I didn't see it sooner! Thanks!
