Large sensor range. Fast ship movement. Espionage so you know what they are using. Dont blindly send your ships out to attack. If you have movement points, check the movement of the enemy and control the distance to them so that you become the attacker instead of the defender. When its equal fleets, its very important to control the distance of your fleets to the enemy so that it intersects to your advantage. -

Dang, I wish I knew of the options to break alliance earlier. First peace with my enemy.. Pay my allies to peace. Pay enemy to go to war with my ally. Say no to allies request to assist. Than pay my other ally to peace with the enemy. Pay the enemy to attack the other ally and refuse to help. Just to get a military victory. Hmm... its more interesting that way but.... it was expensive doing that.
Try it with the current version of firefox. I have lots of problems with the forums using IE or Opera. I installed firefox - no problems... Forums that time out on opera works fine in firefox. Created my character without a problem in firefox. This is a firefox loving site. At least its not IE.
This is where people come in and request more maps. I have gone to the point of micro managing planets to optimize them so please add more planetary maps to the game. I can only stare so long at a planet to switch to another and wonder, didnt I just set this place up? Unless of course, that is in 1.1 and I'm too lazy now to check
After much debate... Colonials to Browncoats... Browncoats, here I come! I was getting so tired of low grade b scifi shows and movies for so long that Firefly/Serenty woke me up. Well, here I am.
That video is a bit of a problem. I have a laptop that I originally got the game for.... but it does not run it well, so playing it on my desktop. As Ostsol stated, test your system with the demo... Only way to know. Also, make sure that your video drivers and sound drivers are up to date. It seems that is where most of the people are having problems.
You always have the option to purchase the building.... With a good economy, you can purchase one or two buildings to increase the speed that it builds. Also, using the mechanics of the game, you can change the sliders to increase the social production of all your planets... Using the social production slider and purchasing of the building, you can build high end structures pretty fast... Think of it this way, City needs
Elendil, use Firefox to create your char. I use Opera, but it just times out... Installed firefox, no problem with creating a char on the metaverse. Tman, best thing is to not give up... There is always a way to pull out of a tight situation. One game, I was so far behind everyone, I worked on diplomacy and tech... Got a tech victory out of it, all my close neighbors were friends too. Also, try the big map
I work as tech support for government... Dont tell me that there are no bugs / issues with the applications that you sell Psio... Even controlling the configuration of the computer systems in government computers, there are some variables that just can not be found until release. It makes me laugh whenever I see people say they release bug free software. There is no such thing, the only difference is the quantity and quality o
Also, are you running multiple apps at once? Turn bit torrent off. Dont watch a movie and play at the same time... I have what is considered top of the line, I oc and I can still play the game just fine. I have been working in tech support for a long time and the amount of people who dont know how to use a computer is just staggering. This type of posts are just par for the course, computers are like pet monsters... you t
One note on leaving a tile open on a planet for putting a project down later.. It does not cost anything to delete a tile improvement. So instead of leaving an empty spot, use up all your improvements and delete them to put others as the game progress or just upgrade. No need to have an empty tile at all
The odds are not as high as you think. Played a challenging game in gigantic with neutral for over 100k points. Of course, it took me several weeks to finish the game but its not impossible nor very difficult. It just takes action Taking over the Galaxy was not meant to be an easy task or we would all be doing it....oh wait.. we are!
Yeah... Watch a nice planet reduced even though you win Considering I never use it though on higher difficulty I might.
You want the econ, tech, and manufacturing caps on different worlds. Econ - highest quality planet, this is mandatory. You want lots of econ tiles, farms, and entertainment on the planet. Manu - I prefer a high quality planet to turn out ships fast tech - I also prefer high quality planet Dont put the capitals on the same planet, you want to specialize planets around the end of the colony rush. Specialized research plane
There are walk throughs around here somewhere, but basically as bladevenom stated, colony ruah. First - buy a colony or buy a factory .. this depends Second turn - buy colony... Use up your money if you have to and buy and send the colonies out. Dont worry about warships or anything in the initial phase, just rush and grab as many planets as you can. Planet setup, diversify initially... in other words have at lease
Ops, accidently saved this before I finished. This has most likely been posted but I've had some issues accessing some posts. That I will be posting in the correct topic. I have been playing this game on and off this week and this is what I came up with. 1. Give basic hull designed ships without any systems. This way people who dont have the time/inclination to create a ship design can just input engines, weapons, shields and other systems to ships without taking the time to create a
My thoughts on invasion. GC1 had zero considerations in planetary invasion. It was pure attrition. In a cultural, political, and moral point of view... any society that sends millions of people from a planet to invade another planet and win through attrition, the government is not gonna last long. This is a game, but there needs to be some fundamental rules on how the civilization functions and sending millions from one planet to another (its reg
I have been reading up on the idea of creating a star but I havent seen any post about creating a Dyson Sphere (no search feature that I can see). Compared to creating a star, a Dyson sphere would be a better possibility especially considering that Terror Stars can be made in game. With the need for space on planets in GC2, a Dyson sphere can be the highest form of tech advancedment adding around 600 million times the surface area of a planet(within
