I agree with everything you say pretty much, but I do feel Stardock neglects a key component of OD, namely ObjectBar. It should get the same time and attention to detail as WB and DX. Cheers!
Apple are good at what they do, but they are total ass-hats at the same time..... I guess the issue is that it is charged for commercially... so it's 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Oh well.

I'd quite like to see it made part of ODNT, as i wouldn't be fussed enough to pay another sum for it on it's own, but I do feel it would add to the appeal of ODNT as being the all encompassing skinning solution to transform Windows XP (as suvch I have always fealt that CursorXP should have been in ODNT rather than charged seperately). Bakerstreet, it is was the commercial license users I was thinking of when I made the comment, but yes, for the $129 private license, the fact it was said for non-ditribution would suggest no uploading in that sense. But people write free plugins etc for programs, so I assume people with the full 499 license would still be quite likely to make free objects as well as sale objects. I dunno, at the end of the day I don't actually care that much, I use DX solely for the IconX side, and any objects
Seeing as all uploads are approved prior to inclusion for downlod by visitors, they would be spotted for virus's etc... surely? Seeing as the whole point is to make standalone exe's it would seem a little odd to try and stop people actually sharing them.... though I don't especially mind downloading traditional dx objects if people were really that bothered about downloading exe's. I'm of the same mind as Will Rose, SD has listened and worked with it's users/subscribers, but I won't pay $99 on top of ODNT, but that's my choice, and everyone carries on happy. I'm looking forward to seeing stuff made with Pro... and who knows, it might just change my mind one day! Cheers!
Bakerstreet, with all due respect, 'neat' isn't missing the point. Surely if i want to have a mail checker, a clock, and a net meter, having a small exe is more efficient than having the whole of DX running? While I couldn't state tht as fact, I would like to think so. So take a step back, there's more to it then the end result you visibly see on your desktop. My personal opinion would be that both prices are just too high, based purely on what other applications could be purchased for such money. HOWEVER, in the commercial arena, $500 just isn't a big amount of cash, and I wouldn't expect it to be a hinderance to those who would have a use for it. In non-commercial terms, I would certainly never entertain paying $130 for DXPro, because it just isn't a big enough feature to warrant an extra $130 over what I have already paid on ODNT subscription. $50
I love windowblinds, and its no surprise when others do as well, but until Stardock can stop application windows 'stepping out of alignment' when they are busy (Lightwave does it all the time along with ACDSee) I do find myself going back to stylexp quite a bit. WB just doesn't quite seem robust enough in its replacment of the interface. The degree to which it skins windows does make it a ton and a half better than anything else though. Cheers!
True that a boot screen is not seen for very long, and at the end of the day, how the windows interface looks doesn't ACTUAlLLY matter, but by the same token, it doesn't matter of people like to change it. I run a pretty full mac clone, amongst other reasons because the layout works better for my tastes. I also find it easier on the eye. The same goes for the boot screen. I for one would use this app, because it's neat, simple as that. It won't change my life, but its just something to take away

I love these, and indeed purchased them yesterday, and the only 'issue' I have had is on ACDSee6 some menus the text goes the same colour as the menu background (forget if its mouseover or default), but it's no biggie, and I could edit them myself (just as soon as SkinStudio stops making skins yellow when I save them anyway!) Great job though, thanks a lot

I think the fact they cost a whisker under $2 a piece makes up for the difference in quality to PixOS. I have bought all the Pixtudio except for Logika which I don't like massivly, but I wouldn't say these are hugely below Pix. I feel it's a shame that ChromeXP seems the only one to have a wallpaper though. I hope some people see fit to make the sysmetrix, winamps and ICQ/Trillian skins to go with them. Cheers Craig

At the end of the day, I don't have to like or agree with a moderators decision, but I do have to react in a responsible way. I'm an artist by trade, so I will taylor my submissions to try and fit in woth what I want, and what the moderators will allow (heh this could take a while!). I can't find any contact details on Wincustomize, so I thought I'd ask here. I'm wondering why my wallpaper submission has been removed and seemingly rejected? It was a blue tinted verion of this image http://www.f-nine.co.uk/images_gallery/laat_art.jpg with a slight offset to make it ideal for the updated PixOS suite. I'm pretty pissed off right now, as my last submission was rejected for being a Terragen image. I've seen tons accepted since. <A HRE
I had wallpapers rejected for being 'straight out of terragen' and the very next day see people have terragen or bryce images accepted. That frankly is shit. Art is Art.
