I've seen a lot of posts on this subject, so let me lay it to rest. The AI CAN and WILL pursue and achive a technology victory. I unfortunatly have first hand experience with this.

I was pursuing a technology victory in my last game. Late in the game I got the following message: [URL=http://img59.imageshack.us/my.php?image=techvic9gs.jpg][IMG]http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7527/techvic9gs.th.jpg[/IMG][/URL] Needless to say I hurried up and finished researching that final tech! Has anyone else come across this message? Is it possible to lose to a computer opponent now via technology victory?

I don't understand the scoring system at all. I just posted my latest game, my best game ever in terms of points. But instead of going up my metaverse score actually went down! What kind of a system punishes players for doing well?
