GEHIRNWAL means in english BRAINWHALE!
The translators got something right. Brainwhale is what is says in the original english. Gehirnwal would be used in mission 3 when referring to the Substrate Controller dreadnought (It shouldn't have been used anywhere else). Here are a few extracted lines from the English mission 3 text file (UIText\Mission3.csv): Mission3_T3_1

Steam discussions for Ashes is working for me.
I have played Ashes for over 400 hours, and have only played OTC for about 5-6 hours. I really like OTC. I particularly liked the build animations in OTC although I felt OTC was small and limiting in the number of buildings that could be built with games being rather short and a little anticlimactic. I don't know how much Ashes could learn from OTC as the things that make OTC great are a core part of the very different style of gamepla
I have a single 970, and I often run into issues with major slow downs (0.5-5 fps) when my 970 hits 3.5 GB VRAM usage. I stick to the High graphics profile. Above this just uses too much VRAM on the maps that I play on. SLI does not double your VRAM, this will be a limiting factor with your rig.
There are a couple of people with benchmark results with GTX 1080 cards in the metaverse. These are likely reviewers who received a sample card after the release presentation. The benchmark results appear to be slight improvements over the Titan X as expected.
Neither have been released yet. Wait for them to be released and real world benchmark results available. Both 1070 and 1080 support directx 12_1 same as the previous generation Nvidia cards. Both cards have been advertised as faster than a titan X, with the 1080 approximately 20-30% faster. You could check the metaverse benchmarks for Titan X results as a point of reference.
If I wrote a review now, the negatives would outweigh the positives:
9 positives, 6 negatives. From what I have seen, the developers take constructive criticism very well. I am pretty sure the Drone Hive and Dominator used to have Quantum Generator as a prerequisite. This must have been a mistake that this prerequisite was taken away as it just doesn't make sense why this would have intentionally been changed. Some of your unit comparisons don't make sense (Zeus vs Mauler, Artemis vs Destructor). You may as well include other comparisons like Medic vs Drone Hive, and Apollo vs Mauler. Engineers/Constructors can heal u
With 8GB of RAM you are going to not have a great time with the map editor. I would recommend sticking to the smallest map size. I can easily saturate my 16GB even on the small map size with low-mid quality build settings. I had put a list of bugs that I have observed in the map editor together in a post a while back. https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/476680/page/1/
Third race and more units including naval have been mentioned on several occasions as planned by the developers.
Do you plan to publish Map editor so player can share maps between each other? I run AotS on my 15.6" laptop which has a native resolution of 1920x1080 and run AotS at 1366x768 to get better FPS. Font size is fine for me, it is slightly blurry but still legible. I have DPI settings in windows set at 100%, UI scaling in game is 70% (maximum supported for 1366x768). I hope your problem is resolved. Best of luck.

There are a few different ways that I start with logistics. Sometimes first quanta goes to logistics. Sometimes I spend immediately on weapon damage and push out expansions hard, focus on T1 until quanta has built up for more logistics, then roll out the T2 production.
Many units have multiple weapons, some which can attack T1 and above, others limited to T2 etc. Not every weapon can necessarily attack a specific target that you choose. Each weapon has a priority order for what tier unit to attack, as some weapons would be more efficient at taking out T1, and do next to nothing on T2 or T3. It makes sense with the way it is set up, you wouldn't want a Prometheus to go into battle, offload its main weapon at a medic wastefully killing it
On tiny/small maps against normal AI, I often don't spam quanta generators, and just stick with the one, the trick is to wipe out the enemy before any quanta is needed. Quanta generators consume a hell of a lot of radioactive resource which limits cruiser/air production on small maps where radioactive nodes are often in short supply. On large maps playing against painful AI, I sometimes push quanta generators close to triple digits. [quote who="pvtepvtes" re
the PHC players often keep producing from T1 factories even after T2 is available and possible to amass.
This is often a good thing up to a point. T2 requires radioactives, if there is left over metal for T1, it is more often better spent than horded. T1 units are still effective against T2 which don't target them effectively and are cheap cannon fodder, making them excellent stocking-stuffers when you just don't
Although any unit will eventually fall to an overwhelming force of stupid, it is significantly better for your economy to use the right units. Some counters are due to particular units not having a attack that targets a unit tier, or a weaker weapon that targets lower tiers. Example: While Maulers have a very strong weapon that can cut through cruisers, that weapon does not target frigates, however its much weaker secondary weapons can. A Mauler would win against an archer, bu
It is a cheap way to discourage rapid expanders who poorly defend their nodes. Incursion is expensive, and exponential cost increases discourages spamming of expensive abilities. If you can get away with using a probing force, don't waste resources on an incursion. Additionally, there are cooldown times, assuming you have the quanta the addition of this ability allows you to drop a probing force at one location and an incursion at another to cut off two nodes simultaneously.
Not everyone who has spoken out has been banned. Yet. However, being banned from GameSpot is like being banned from admittance into an insane asylum. They are just doing you a favour.
The Zoom override "unintended feature" has been around as long as I recall (since pre-alpha). It is very useful for generating screenshots and personally something that I would prefer to have officially implemented, not fixed. It doesn't cause major game-play issues so would be relatively low priority in resolving.
In this case it would have been better to ship without altogether IMO, perhaps introduce them as DLC later.
Most RTS games have terrible campaigns, with more focus on strong single player vs AI skirmish, or multiplayer. I agree that leaving out campaign entirely is an acceptable decision for this genre. Although, I feel that the story that could be told within the AotS universe could be enjoyable once it is fleshed out.</p
I prefer to alternate between Substrate and PHC. (Can I repeat my request for "Random" as a faction option? I don't like having to choose) Previously, I would have called PHC OP, which had both engineer drop and incursion allowing very cheap and quick rapid expansion and super cheese. The recent nerf to incursion, and significant improvement to Substrates Avatar has balanced the playing field with both factions able to expand effectively. I have been playing
