8.50 is working fine with WC for me and I have had no problems. Been using Opera exclusively for 3 years now and most of the WC issues have been resolved.

My nano has just done a holiday trip and also has been used in my commute to work everyday since it's release... I just keep it in my jeans pocket and it hasn't got a scratch on it. I don't exactly baby the thing either. Just got an iPod sock for it (out of stock of everything else) and it's working very well for it.
After reading some of the comments at that blog site, I want to throw my Powerbook out the window. Mac zealots make anyone who uses a Mac look like a short sighted dick. It's a shame they are so vocal with their misplaced ideas.
It's not to do with money in this case Bushman... it's to do with business practice. They know Lee will have inside information on practices MS do not want Google knowing. They stipulated in his contract that if he were to leave for a competitor, he would not be allowed to work for them for 1-2 years after leaving MS. It is standard practice in large companies and high up execs.
It's much better. Impressed with it so far and very unintrusive in comparison to the others mentioned. It feels like part of the OS. Especially running it along side KoL's Fresco skin.
Quite cheap for us in the UK considering. I was expecting the usual dollar to pound conversion. Didn't PS1 release at £299 in the UK? Or was that Saturn. So £279 10 years later for the sort of kit you get isn't bad.
^^ Second that idea, would look much better ^^ Great update.

It's a more of reverse engineering than anything else. I guess I missed the Buy It buttons during the beta. But I haven't used it since I downloaded it. The Dashboard layer is quick and easy enough.
Buy it? Wtf? I didn't realise that after the Beta they were going to charge for this. That's just wrong, it's not even their technology, it's just a hack to Dashboard. It's like buying StyleXP, pointless.
New one from Stefenka. Everything seen is with the theme though some bits require Styler Toolbar. Click http://www.septimus.net/septimus/ss/li.jpg for big
#5 by Citizen assassino4 This ruling is complete idiocy. What's next? How about Nero with their DVD burning software? After all, under the latest Supreme court train of thought, since you're using the company's software to illegally copy movies, surely the company will be held liable. This is a completly idiotic
That and Intel chips will run far cooler than AMD in most cases. This was important for Apple and their slimline i/PowerBooks and of course new Mini's.
Good stuff Nice to see it on the list.
@caseagainstfaith: It is x86 as a base. The new dev kits run 3.6 P4's. It won't be P4 in the final machines I guess, but it's successor by that point. Or at least natural progression. I'm sure the CPU's will be Mac locked and have certain extra Instruction sets built in to ease the transition from PPC that will be fazed out over time.
At last. Mac's will be more afordable. They will still restrict the components used and without a lots of bios hacks for example you won't be able to build one, but bugger it who cares.
I got the disappearing objects from widgets a lot, an example being calculator buttons would just go. Stopped using DX3 as it has all the annoying bugs mentioned in this thread. Clearing the cache seems to fix a lot of them as it forces a reload of the widget, but still, you shouldn't have to.
Yeah Amnesty allows widgets to stay on the desktop at any 'level' you choose. Pretty good. Konfabulator 2 is out and very nice. More of an improvement on the PC than Mac, yet I can't be bothered with the Mac version I bought as the widgets are just better on Dashboard. The copier is better than the copied.
Just downloading the update, so still on .0 of Tiger. Widgets haven't closed, crashed or forgotten their settings even when closed and reopened. Also using a small plugin called Amnesty, all widgets can be left on the desktop at the window level you choose. Only downside is they loose the nice OpenGL effects such as flipping, but no loss of usability. Off all the widget apps, Dashboard (until Konfab 2 comes out possibly) loads the w
As a PC user, to answer the question of the title from my point of view... No. It's a far better OS than anything the PC currently has. Probably will change when Longhorn gets here, but for now you can add as much as you want to windows and it still won't feel as complete as OSX does at the moment. Really considering selling my PC (which is a top end spec) as I'm so bored with it.
Sounds good to me too.
Yeah same here. Been using computers since I was 4.. back in 1981 (I'm old, nooo!). I need something to constantly challenge me or I get bored beyond belief instantly.
Sorry for the late reply, VLC is VideoLan (videolan.org). A great app that plays 99.9% of media files. I think the overlay issue is due to OD taking the primary overlay surface in memory which PDVD needs. If you move it, or close and reopen it while PowerDVD is running, it should reallocate the memory space. AveDesk can also cause the PowerDVD issue.
It's due to the overlay usage of each program conflicting. Not much you can do about it other than use primary surface or if you DVD player of choice can for example use an OpenGL overlay instead of standard. Also, VLC can get around the issue with its DirectX overlay.
