How often is the Metaverse updated? I posted my first game and I show up in my Empire listing with my score, but it says I am "unranked". How often are rankings updated? Thanks.

Ain't going to happen, it would require rebalancing the entire game. Right now, the game " works" - the AI can do well given the current way trading works. But to change sometthing as fundamental as this would require an entirely different AI routine for tech trading, and I don't think that' s going to happen.

I won a game earlier today and posted successfully to the Metaverse. My name and score appear in my profile and in my empire's listing, but I am listed as "unranked". Why is that? Are rankings only updated every so often, like once a day? Thanks.

Using a "tank" in your fleet in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I'm wondering if this tactic would work in fleet combat. Supposedly in combat, the combat algorithm attacks your most "lethal" ship first, then moves on to other ships, one ship at a time. Could you create an "assault carrier", a strong defensive ships to soak up the AI attacks, and surround it with cheap offensive fighters. You' d need to give the carrier enough offensive weapons to outweigh whatever the fighters were carrying so the AI

Go to Stardock Central, look under Tools/Register Products. Then under Products select GalCiv 2 and check the serial number there. Even if you enter the correct serial number in the game launcher, it doesn't matter, the game will pull the serial number from here in Stardock Central. My SDC had a totally different and strange serial number here. Update the serial number here in Stardock Central, then update it in the launcher. Then play a one turn

You guys are totally wrong about the the inapproriateness of trading good techs for "lesser" ones. I'll give the AI a good tech for a "lesser" tech all the time. Why? Because I'll then turn around and trade that "lesser" tech to 4 or 5 other AI's for 4 or 5 AI's for 4 or 5 other techs. So I can take 1 tech and turn it into 4 or 5 techs. Ok, I finally figured out the problem. Even though I updated the registration in the launcher menu the game wasn't using it. It was instead pulling it from Stardock Central and was using another registration serial number. I went into Stardock Central and changed it. But I just wonder now if Stardock Central will be screwed up for updates. I

Ok, the game won't update the original serial number. I created a new character in the Metaverse so I know exactly what serial number to use. I then use that in the launcher to update the serial number. However, the Metaverse won't accept it. When I look at the XML file fof the Metaverse load, it still has the old serial number in it. This is getting pretty frustrating - I can't even load a dummy/test game.

Thanks, I figured out what the problem is. For some reason the game chooses an entirely different serial number than the one Stardock gave me. How did that happen for heavan's sake. Yeah, I can go in and change it, and I think it will work - I'm going to just lose a game after one turn and check to be sure before play ing again. But I'm really ticked - I just lost posting a 35,000+ point game because of this. Can someone at Stardock do me a favor

Influence Structures? in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

What structures produce influence. I know embassies and some specific structures do, but what about Galactic Wonders and/or Superprojects? I have an influence bonus tile on a planet and am trying to figure out what to put on it. Got a superproject that would go there - would that give an influence bonus? Thanks.

I pre-ordered the game months ago during the betat testing, got my final download the other day when the was opened upon on Total Gaming Net. So my question is, are the Bonuspack and Collector's editions separate downloads, or was that already included in what I got. Yep, Proud Canadian, I doublechecked - the original invoice had both invoice number (which I did not use) and a serial number, which I did use. That said, it appears others are confirming my experience.

I am now getting the "Stardock Central has encountered an error and needs to close message". I installed the latest update, then when I restarted the PC, I now get this error message and the application crashes.
