Cool! Reminds me of Steam, but way better looking.
Still on PS7
Really? Well, I knew a guy who was staying with 7 all the way. He though CS was bloated and slow (which was true) But he finally relented when CS3 came around. CS3 is a huge improvment. Adobe has optimized alot, especially startup - it's really fast. Trust me,
Here's a preview of the pieces. It's hard to tell the difference between them because of the flash, but in natural light they all look different. I've cut about 200 pieces for each type of wood. Boxxi, those guitars are awsome! Man, if I had a themeable phone I would skin it.
Yippe!!! I can finally test out my Dream! :CONGRAT:
Yep, this is a Risk board I made. The orig is 9600x4800 px, and the actual board is 2' x 4' Right now I use the normal Risk pieces, but I'm working on my own. I got exotic woods: tiger wood, zebra wood, blood wood, purple heart, and some regular old maple for lighter coloured pieces. For the black pieces I wanted some ebony, but it's REALLY expensive, so I got some katalox and stained it. Already have most of them cut, just have to finish and polish them. Then I will make some wooden dice an
Night Train -
Great job patrick...as I understand it, you couldn't even use this to test it. Is that right?
Yes, I wasn't able to test it. I do have Vista Home Premium, but not Ultimate. That being the case, the only way I could test it was to win the contest, I mean comeon, who's gona pay for Vista Ultimate anyway....
THANK YOU STARDOCK!!! THANK YOU ALIENWARE!!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! :SNIFF!: (tears of joy)
I also received that mail but didnt follow those instructions as described! Yet I agree with t2wave when he said:
Firstly he was emailed to his email to answer if he really was a US Resident like he told me ! Why didnt we get emailed I mean you are discriminating people!
What I can understand from this is that you had no rights into emailing him to ask for eligibility until he was announced as a winner as t was supposed to be 5th of this month! Somebody needs a spanking.
Ok, I got it to work. I tried IE with the other upload page and it worked. Thanks Zubaz! :CONGRAT:
Games I'm playing: -Counter Strike Source -Unreal Tournament 3 -Finishing Bioshock -Guild Wars (rarely) Games I have: -HL2 -Day of Defeat Source -Orange Box -Battlefield 2 -Doom 3 -Halo -Myst 1,2,&3 Games I want: -Call of Duty 4 -Crysis
Well, I tried the old upload page and definately made sure all the forms were filled in (except the option .swf video) and every time I get a "Server connection was reset..." error. I don't get why it worked before, but now it just hates me... I don't know if something on my end is screwed up, or the uploading system doesn't like me posting 50+ mb files? (:(
I've tried to upload my latest Dream for the alienware contest which is 50mb, three times now, but every time I get this error: I definitely made sure I was uploading the right .dream file, and it seems to be working, until it's finished uploading then it gives that error message. My previous Dream uploaded fine without any problems, so I don't see why it's not working now. 50mb is kinda big, but my other dream I submitte
Well, here's a preview of a dream that I'm working on for the alienware contest.
Something I've been messing with.
Yikes! Just looked at the skinning method....... too tough for me! Tell me about it. I would love to enter this contest, but trying to skin this browser is very difficult. There is no app (that I know of) which can be used to skin Maxthon, and the wiki skinning reference isn't much help either. After hours of rigor, I still can't figure out how to do seemingly simple things, and you have to edit everything in the code too! <img src="http://images.s
Here's an idea I've been knocking around in my brain...possible xion skin...
This is a project I'm calling "Born Again". Awsome for first time using illustrator! Just one thing that always bugs me... I don't know why people squish reflections. I know it gives more space for the icon, but it's physically inaccurate. I prefer straight... The same thing can be accomplished with a b2w gradient on a mask, and it looks better I think. Theres my bit
Noooo... Not the dark side!

Thanks Brainy. Yours is looking pretty cool too.
Here's a work in progress. It's been slow, so this is all I have so far...
I seems to me that since vista desktop is a direct x, 3d environment that fancy effects like reflections and such would be very likely with object dock, and other object desktop apps. Is the coding behind vista's gui so complex or restrictive that anything beyond blurring effects is impossible, or at least very hard to do? Maybe I'm being optimistic, but if you stardock wizards can figure out how to get xp to support per-pixel transparency, then fancy effects with vista would be a piece of cake.
