Cheat Mod not working? in Game Talk GalCiv2 Forums

I've added the cheat to the shortcut command, but pushing the CTRL key and buttons in the game does nothing? Have i missed something or done it wrong?

I'm usually conflicted at the start of the game...I like to be good, prefer trade/influence/diplomacy ways to win, and Trade Centers are sweet as, but those short term benefits of being evil - +37% Planet Quality, +33% Production..how can even a saint like me say no to that? So now I don't say no; during the initial colonising rush I take all the evil choices and grab the benefits while they are there.
