for minimulistic i would look into litestep, its not very user friendly, but once u learn it, it can be very functional and sleek, just take alookat my desk top, i have no graphics whatsoever except my winamp controls. I still think this whole thing could be fixed with a turn on irresponible raters, but hey thats just my thinking. The current system has worked fora long while, and very well for alot of reasons that have already been stated. But this problem has only surfaced since the rastings have been smashed by people and such. Having responsable raters are a core in the problem here

i thought we got away from this and had a general understanding... i guess not. Ratings arent going away no matter what u do they have multiple purposes here on the site. one is quality control, y show low rated stuff to the general public (ie the other 700,000 people who come by here) Its a majority system based on averages, with one flaw and that is irresponsible raters, which i have already stated. It saves on banwidth, and it saves our image tot he other 700,000 people who arent signed

madices solution is very viable, as it ellimanite that major problem witht he current rating system, irresponsible raters, it should be rated on how good it is for everyone else rather than the personal feeling about the wall/skin becasue having a 1 rated on anything ensures the public wont see it unless it gets alot of very high ratings to compensate.But if we get rid of the problem inthe first palce (irresponsable raters) then we shouldnt have a problem anymore with the current rating system.

i like this idea alot, should do everything it needs to while keeping the current structure intact of public see no see quality control. keeps people happy as u only can get 2 different ratings show to the public no show to the public, thats how i see it rather that it sucks or doesnt suck.

im in the education system, as a matter of fact im smack dab in the middle (junior in high school), the way it was run, yea it sucked, its school, school isnt fun. But what sucks even more is when some administrative yahoo trys to make it more hands so they can make it "better". We learn less that just taking in the raw knowledge, take the math classes at our school, there is the hands on class which everyone hates, not because its too hard but because its too easy.
