you gotta watch out though the HP recovery partition is set up for the disk size you have in the PC. I had this issue when I transferred from a 160gb hard drive to a 250 gb hard drive in my desktop PC. I transferred the partitions over to the new drive using Partition commander then when I attempted to use the recovery console on the new drive ...

1. Get linux working on my laptop to have a proper dual-boot setup ( investigate some distros other than kubuntu) 2. clean up my alternate partitions on my desktop PC ( downloads , attachments , etc ) 3. clear out and defragment the primary partition on my desktop PC 4. Fix old video card (7600GT PCI-E) to get rid of it ( it needs a new HSF ) 5. Install PSP X2 and Office 2007 on my desktop 6 set up my external hard drive enclosure

Obvious for those that know the movie and/or me well, but for those that doesn't: I'm rarther fund of trucks (big-rigs, 18 wheelers etc etc) and in that movie there is a trucker by the name of Cleetus Snow, aka Snowman. I've loved that movie since I saw it first time (out of a kazillion), and the truckers call-name sorta got stuck on me since then.
made mine up based on an old nickname and the y2k bug .....

Meh . Same issue here. I got it before there was a MyColors. And I copied the actual theme over here and still it won't apply. Funny enough the premium skin I bought when I got Winter Wonderland ( Magic ) *DOES* work on here.
Ok here's the problem I see in this discussion: Most people are comparing their set-in, heavely optimized, completely personalized, correctly installed XP rigs with their out-of-the-box Vista machines. Unless you got your XP rig in the bast 18 months or so, you had to do about as much, and many times more, to get it working well as you do with Vista. And XP, I've done about 20, reinstalls in its
then I think you might be ok , but I'd scan all the machines on the LAN for baddies.
I just changed blinds :P
I cheer your emancipation from Vista!
check the logs on your router if you have it enabled.

Nope used the new skin Meh. I changed it to the Vista style . Won't update the shot cause it looks almost the same :|
Sorry to see ya go , mate. Wish you get better and stuff
You just dont know how to optimized it for your own purpose. Yes, vista needs alot of attention to be successfull, and if you don't know how to use it / have the patience to customize it, dont whine, and dont buy vista. Stick to XP and leave the peoples who are happy with vista alone.
not all of us had a choice. This laptop came with Vista, and if it wasn't for the effort necessary to get all the funky features working on ano
