At this moment I'm not really impressed with the submission process...actually it's not the process persay. On Sunday/Monday I submitted a DX Object. Which showed under my skins as awaiting moderation. On Tuesday it was gone. So, I submitted it again and it showed under my skins as awaiting moderation. So, I come on today to check the status of it and it is gone again. Is this like a corporate thing where everything must be submitted in triplicate? It's a little frustrating. In an

wxwidget is a whole different ballgame then this forum. I'd check for links to forums over at http://www.wxwidgets.org/

Just loaded the widget & it's reverted back to the previous saved version. Edit: September 2nd. Okay. This doesn't seem to be happening. And may have been because of a virus?

Under the default object directory I use subdirectories per project in addition to a basic sandbox directory. Just went to retrieve object MyBrowser & it has been deleted. There is another object within the sandbox by the same name; however, it hasn't been activated this session. Is this a bug or what? It's the first time I've done it this way. Usually, I create new versions on each major save. Thankfully I also created a widget but, I want to know if this is how DX han

Does Kapsules have similar problems with Desktop X widgets and Konfab widgets ? ie, like the start problem where suddenly everything gets duplicated, or some widgets just stop running randomly? Have never experienced those problems with any of the programs you mentioned. Kapsules is very stable in my opinion. Andrew's pretty good at working at th

Is it possible to script the advanced settings of the appearance tab? If so what are the namespaces/callbacks. The reason I ask is I'd like to script an animation "sucking effect". See below Upper Left Corner = x1 Upper Right Corner = x2 Bottom Left Corner = y1 Bottom Right Corner = y2 I'd use at least three timers. Timer one would move the left & right corners in. Timer two the top corners. Timer three moving the animation down/hidden. Th

BTW, SirSmiley, what's this about using external files? How is that possible and how do you include those files when exporting for upload? As Zubaz said referencing the external file is easier for the user. Not sure whether I'd use xml or text(csv, etc) myself. Simple text files maybe easier to parse for the less experienced scri

If it's on a computer that's administered by someone else & the user is limited access. Then the Local Machine settings obviously can't be written. Have you tried to see if the User settings allow time related registry entries or not?

Timebased changes can be done with a simple timer script. So, could the button. Think of something similar to a toggle script. Are you reading from a text file? xml? Or did you plan to put the text directly in the object? I'd suggest using an external file to keep the size down.

Great work. On vertical the buttons overshot the bottom edge, then on second load they disappeared completely. Otherwise functionally it works great. Just a few feature thoughts. -any way to pause the timer scrolling through the various cities -ability to resize to smaller (within limitations)

So many resources where to begin. A couple of the best "resources" to help would be to download Microsoft's Compiled WSH Help file. This includes jscript, vbscript, wmi, etc. definitely a valuable resource. Don't have a link but the file name is script56.chm (2.8mb) Hey Scripting Guy has abundant amount of examples & probably will lead you to the above resource http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/resources/qanda/hsgarch.mspx Probably my most favori

One tip I picked up came from Roman's Tutorials. Using the tile/stretch features (states tab|appearance|advanced button)works wonders. For example I had a widget that was 173k before using these features that became 7k. On larger more complex widgets/objects the savings arent as significant but, still are wowing me.

Iceman's site hasn't been update for quite awhile. If your specifically looking for any of those apps check aqua-soft as that's Timan's forum.

If it's a Dell look for a freeware app called Dell Decrapifier. Haven't used it but, the reviews say it does it's job. I just edited the registry myself & that got rid of it for me.

Zealousness aside. Statistics can be used to anyone's advantage. Massaging of statistics has long been a big companies game. Apple learned & used/uses guerilla tactics to market their product. On the marketing front there is no disputing the genius (asides from the recent campaign) of Apple's marketing & it's excellence in design & innovation. Smaller, faster companies can often accomplish this. If anything Apple's existence raises the bar on all level
