I'm only going to get Vista because I want something new/different. I am getting a little tired of XP already. I have Vista RC1 and used it for a bit. The sad thing is that some of my drivers won't work properly, so I can't play games on it. I am using Nvidia and the Vista beta drivers are only good for RC2, NOT RC1. So, back to XP for now. When Vista comes into the stores, I am definitely upgrading though. Hopefully the drivers will be

Maybe if they didn't charge $200-$500 for a program there would be less piracy. A lot of people can't afford to dish out that kind of money for a disc and there is no reason why companies like Microsoft have to charge that kind of money either. Why don't they charge $70 or $100 for Vista? Why must is be almost unaffordable?
It's too bad that game makers aren't making games for PC's anymore and concentrating mainly on that X-Box360 and other idiot game consoles. I use to be a big PC gamer and never owned a game console but I can see the PC gaming industry go downhill and downhill fast. All of EA games this year have been horrible for the PC. Especially the sports ones like NHL07, Tigerwoods 07 and Madden 07. When Activision's Call Of Duty 3 game out, I was excited, the
By corporate law, it should be made mandatory to make the switch from XP to Vista within the first 8 months.
I agree with you, wlr3d.... Dell is a horrible company. Anytime I hear of someone buying a Dell system, I seriously feel sorry for them. They don't have a clue
How do they know these figures? No one asked me. I have been using IE ever since day one and I love the new IE7. Firefox is ok, but some websites do not work well with it, especially high security government sites. Firefox is still a simple minded browser for simple minded people, I guess
Congrats to all of the winners! You guys did a wonderful job
Wow, these are incredible! Great work!
I guess that I should have read the "BETA" part lol sorry
After reading all the problems that people have been having with WB on Vista, I am going to think twice about installing it. It's too bad that I had to waste $$$ renewing my Object Desktop then.
At my last check IE7 was not compatible with Norton Internet security and WMP11 did (or would not) backup licenses for songs purchased through it. Has anyone gotten any new info on these points? I never had a problem using the beta version of IE7 as far as it being compatible with Norton.
And how much is this going to cost the consumer? It's about time that the final release is coming out, I have been using the beta version for over 9 months now!
I did download 5.1 because I subscribed to StarDock and it upgraded it to the newest version. I really don't see any difference. For the past few years, they have come up with so many "updated" versions and not very often is there a difference. The last time there was a difference is when 5.0 came out. Before and after that, it was the same. Anything for a buck and to fool the users.
WB 5.1 is NO different than WB 5.0. The wallpaper function is non existant. If you look at the programming tabs for WB, it's exactly identical as previous versions. Sad to say, this is just another way to get more money from the users.
ScottyK is right... I bought a retail version of the Media Edition from the local computer store (full version for $150 CDN). It's a wonderful version of Windows.
Don't feel about the extra (double) posts, sa33od... It just did it to me, so I had to go back and edit this post. The prices listed are in US dollars, so Canadians like me will have to add an extra $100-150 to the cost! Nice!
The funny thing is that Microsoft and other companies keep raising the price of these programs all the time and they wonder why there is so much piracy going on. Why not lower the price of Windows to $50 - $70, so everyone can afford it? There is no reason to charge 100's of dollars for a disc and a serial number! The only reason they seem to do it is to cover the cost of the lost revenue from piracy and it's the honest consumer that seems to pay fo
A little sad when you think about it. 6 years in prison for selling a pirated copy of a cheap program, but if he was a child molester or murdered someone, then he probably would have gotten less time. The justice system is a joke and this proves it.
Buttermaker... from the movie Bad News Bears. I liked the 2005 edition with Billy Bob Thornton. He played a character named Morris Buttermaker. His attitude and way of life is just like mine lol
I am still baffled as to why people would bother with Dell. It's been one of the worst companies to buy a computer with in the past, yet people are dumb enough to still buy them. I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.
I couldn't even get it to install, let alone using it.
It does that once in a while for me... today it's been running good. It's just a cheap server.
Move to Western Canada (not Eastern, cause that's where all the nuts live).... It averages only 72 degrees (22.2C) here in July (the hottest month of the year) and has an average low temperature of 50 degrees (9.5C). It gets to above 30C once in a while, but not often.
Scion... I think it would be best if we dropped the whole subject now, k? DA pushed it way over the edge... you CAN NOT compare my comments to any of those that were on there. Even I think that it was taken way too far. Peace.
There is one thing that I had to get off my chest... even though what I said was wrong, that still is no excuse for what Skinhit and Zubaz said. Not liking and commenting about a post is one thing, but threatening to kill someone because of it is another. I was extremely offended by what those two idiots had to say, that's why I reacted the way I did. No offence to anyone else on this board. lynch verb lynches, lynched, lynching 1. Said of a group of people: t
