I mainly referred to the premium skins. Currently there are a total of 20 premium dreams. When you click the box to only show win 8 ready dreams in the library, you end up with 4. So one of the best seem to not work on windows 8 anymore. I would like to try it for myself, but due to some server problems I have not recieved the download link for the demo yet. According to the windows 8 ready library, kind of none of the existing premium skins are currently supported. Since I own of lot of those and like them very much, I'am a bit dissapointed. Will that ever change? When could we expect support? Why are even those amazing videos by TheMasterBaron affected? Due to some changes some hybrid dreams may do not work now, but a simple video? I have installed the beta. The only new feature I now have, is that I'am not able to move to a blank page anymore. I dont see anything of the rest. And when moving a page, an explorer task gets active for some seconds, it appears in the taskbar. But when active, it is possible to close this task and it never appears again, probably till the next restart. Everything is still working fine though, may nothing important? I use Win 8 Pro 64bit (yep Win 8, which I kinda like now

It means that Windows Aero is not fully loaded, which is needed by a folder portal. Just reload the windows blind skin or change to another one manually. Now it is fully active and portals can be used, sadly all icons gets kicked out of normal fences (at least happens that to me).

About Problem 1: You may have locked the dock. Right click onto the dock and unclick this feature. I dont know exactly where it is to find, but it's somewhere in this menu (I haven't used od for a long time).

I found some annoying bugs. They are in the final of fences 2 I now use. I just changed my wallpaper. Then whenever I changed between pages, the old wallpaper where displayed (only while changing). Once all fences has been hidden or unhidden, the problem is gone (until I change my wallpaper again). if aero is not running after a fresh boot up/restart, it could happen that all your icons, from normal fences, get thrown out right onto your desktop. Not every skin includes the shown wallpaper of the preview. Nor does every skinner uploads the shown wallpaper here, since not every wall is made by themselves. If a wallpaper is supposed to be included, it is either packed into the downloaded zip or installed with the skin in its own skin folder (c:users/all users/all documents/ stardock /windowblinds/skinfolder). You should contact support. Since the software seems to run fine on many other systems, the problem may lays on your side and may even be fixed easily? Those new features are amazing. so you really should contact support. Hopefully the problem can be sorted out. Dont just ignore it and go back to version 1, lol.

You could place one onto your desktop and the others into folder portals. That may be an option for you. And in case you have many normal (non portal) fences on different pages, you may make for every normal fence a folder somewhere else, copy everything into it. So you only have portals on your desktop and then you can have the same icons in each (portal) fence.

If you disable fences in the settings, all visible icons of a portal are still on the desktop and clickable/openable (only if they have been visible while deactivating Fences). Like if they are now actually placed onto the dekstop, But if you go to the desktop with the win explorer. You will only see the actuall deskop icons. Refreshing does not help. If you delete one of those still visible portal icons (while fences is deactivated), you delete the actuall file. I can still s

Yes I have rebooted many times. I just installed it over fences 1, while it was running. Now this feature and the other is gone for me. Since it actually runs totally fine, I guess that those features are just not implemented anymore?

I miss two features. But that probably isnt a bug? I cant exclude single icons from quick-hide. And when it comes to sort icons in a fence, you cant change the order anymore (ascent and descent). The problem with transparent text in the config is also present on my machine (depending on the wb skin). Other than that an amazing job!

You can try to activate a function, which you can find under "tools" then "more tools". Put a checkmark to the first function (while all your fences are setted up correctly on the 2 desktops). But I'am not shure if it helps in this case. I guess it happens cause fences may gets active before the other software does, so every fence is placed on your only available desktop.

If you do have an active objekt desktop subscription (or bought it manually), it should show as an update later. To see beta versions/updates, you have to go to the settings in sc and activate the function "show beta downloads".
