I recently reinstalled GalCiv2 after installing Vista, and when I started up a game of Dark Avatar the ship designer works fine for fluff components, but any actual components like engines or weapons do not appear in the preview window, hence I cannot place them. I exited out and switched over to Dread Lords, and the ship designer there shows nothing at all when I select any components, hull, engine, or otherwise. As an aside I also noticed that my Collector's Edition bits were missing

When will those who PRE-ORDERED via TGN (i.e. tokens) be able to receive physical media like those who pre-ordered without TGN? I understand there may be a small price difference, but I haven't heard anything about this since I pre-ordered with TGN.

If characters are tied to a serial number, there MUST be a way to refresh the serial numbers for our characters, whether that is through deletion or whatever. Right now, if I create 3 characters with one serial number. Then, a year from now, I lose my serial number and need to reinstall, so I request an email with serial numbers. Well, that email will have a NEW serial number which will NOT match any of your characters and you will never be

It seems like a good idea, but I think this is something that might be a good idea as an option that I can turn on and off. And here's the other thing: Espionage gives you a LOT more than just what techs they have. At the advanced level, you will also periodically STEAL technologies and it also allows you to see what is on a planet, to help decide if you should use those Tidal Disruptors or not. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink

Sorry to keep posting replies on my own topic... But I just requested 3 emails from Stardock with my serial number, and it gave me a different serial number EVERY TIME. How am I supposed to make sure that my serial number that I have with my local copy of the game matches what's on the server, when it changes merely by requesting a serial lookup? What serial is stored on the server, then?

WTF? Okay, this is weird. I installed SDC on my laptop, fed it my TGN serial number during install. I install GalCiv2. I pull up the serial number... and it's some weird serial number I've never seen before, which is different from any serial number I have ever received from Stardock. I also just requested another email with serial numbers, and it has a different serial number AGAIN. What is going

However, the relationship DOES change when you refuse a deal, or ask for something that the AI thinks is a bad deal. It may not change enough to move from friendly to warm, but based on everything I've read in the manual on here, it DOES change.

I would rather the AI simply make counter-offers to your own offers. For example, if you want to take a tech and offer a tech on a one-to-one trade (which would be your proposal), the AI ought to say something like, "We don't like that, BUT we can do that trade if you give us on top of your original proposal." Or quite simply have the AI highlight what they want in exchan

Perhaps it's really obvious, but I can't seem to find any way to delete a character from my metaverse account? Also, I'm still having trouble with the whole "serial number on game doesn't match serial number stored on server. I have been through everything and my serial number is the same in all of these places: Stardock Central After clicking "Update Serial" from game launcher Email from [email protected] after requesti

Well.... crapola. I registered the new serial number I received in the email using Stardock Central. I then opened up the game, loaded my endgame save, and then tried to post the score. Exact same message except it was prepended with a (12) instead of a (13).

Odd... I think my serial number changed... I had requested an email before, and now this time the serial number is changed... I assume you did this? Thanks!

Every time I try to post my score, I get the message: (13) Your game submission was rejected because the application serial number does not match the serial number on the Metaverse server. O_o I did notice that the serial number at the bottom of the download page for patches and whatnot did not match my actual serial number that I got from Stardock and is currently register in Stardock Central. So, I pasted that serial number

I clicked on the Shipyard, designed a ship using a small hull, 2 ion engines, a laser beam, and a supply support. I changed the name, then clicked Save. Nothing happened. I double-clicked save. Nothing. I click Done. It asked if I really wanted to lose my changes and I said yes. The design was not in fact saved. I went back into the ship yard, redesigned my ship after messing with some of the structural pieces quite a bit, and then clicked Save. Still

Here is how I reproduce my problem: I go to http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx. (I am already logged in). I go to the Account link at the top, and select "Edit my characters". I click "Add Player". I enter a player name "Finster" and copy and paste my serial number from Stardock Central (purchased using TGN). I click Add Character and I then get this IE scripting error: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/kinryuu/metaverseError.jpg Then, I get a m
