With IconX running I can't bring up the shutdown/restart box using Alt-F4. I can close applications using it, but not shut windows down. Unloading IconX immediately cures the problem.
Mike: FYI changing the font size makes no difference to the contents of the labels. However! Changing the font itself does. I've not tried every font I have, but it looks like the only one that's giving me the problem is Calibri , which came packaged with the Alysseum skin for WindowBlinds. Some of my desktop icon labels have been cut short and an elipsis (the three dots) added to the end. There doesn't seem to be any consistency. I've one with the label "Reason" which becomes "Reas..." yet I've another labelled "Remote Access User Guide.pdf" whic displays fully over 2 lines. My recycle bin is labelled "Recycle B..." yet "My Network Places" is displayed in full on a single line. Any thou
If there's no "official" way and this works then I'm happy to go with ! I wonder how KeepSafe would handle this tho. I guess I'd need to do a big restore to put all the files back. No biggie I guess.
Even discussing it is a step in the right direction. Right now this is the only thing preventing me from buying it. I agree even as it is the app is superb, but for what I'm trying to do I'd be happier with a single app rather than combining several.
Is there a way to save the KeepSafe settings other than writing them down? I mean things like the directories backed up, file types etc. I want KeepSafe to take everything in the directories I set up, then I plan to install XP from scratch, then use KeepSafe to put everything back. I guess a file synching situation is what I'm describing. It would be nice to export the settings from the current system, and then just import them all again on the clean one.
I've only got the trial version, so if the main version already does this then just let me know. I've set it up and produced a test file which it picked up correctly. What I'd like it to do is to take an initial copy of everything in a directory (i.e. My Documents) an then do revisions from that point. This to me would be the backup part it claims to do.
Would it be possible to have a dock jump to the front of the screen when an icon on it is trying to notify you? Bouncing, glowing and wiggling are fine, but I need to keep a dock on the top in order to see the effect. This interferes with a number of applications status bars. Having a dock jump to the front would mean that I could leave the z-ordering normal and not miss anything.

I don't think this'll be a tricky one. When a system/notification tray icon animates, I'd like ObjectDock to make a note of the possible images and allow you to override each one. Hi. I purchased an OD subscription last October which I believed gave me all the OD stuff free for the year. I downloaded WB5 thru Stardock Central and it only gave me the trial version and said I need to purchase the full one.
