Possibly wrong forum for missing balls! [e digicons][/e] (I know ... not helpful. Sorry.)

Hi Zubaz. :) I have no problem with the fact that Stardock is a business and at the end of the day needs to cover costs and then make a profit. The cost of hosting approx 3 million hits per day must be a real drain on finacial resources. I don't even have a real problem with the cost of the first year's subscription rising by US$10. (50% increase) I do have a bit of a problem with the renewal cost rising from US$19.95 for TWO years to US$29.95 for ONE year. (200% increas
If I understand the new pricing structure, an existing Wincustomize subscriber will now pay US$59.90 for a further two years of subscription. Under the old system that two year renewal would have cost US$19.95 in total! Is this correct or is my maths not up to scratch? If this is correct then it is not a US$10.00 per year increase but nearly a US$20.00 per year increase for renewals. You have to compare apples to apples. Yes, I understand that this will now include twelve new 'Yaba Daba Doo
Zubaz! What did you call me? A very short ... I'll have you know I'm nearly 6 Feet tall! G'day Jafo. I was wondering how long it would be before your ugly mug showed up. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" b
Thanks Mike. No probs Andy. Brevity... a term with which I am unfamiliar! Commander Phil
Hi Mike. Sorry mate, I was typing while your post went up and so I missed it. Thankyou for your response. It is good to hear that you guys did give the decision more than a quick 'Yeah, that sounds OK. She'll be right'. You make some good points. The best being about wanting to make a sizeable impact in one place. I understand that US $5000 is not a huge amount of money when it comes to charity dollars and you want to make an impact. It is probably obvious that I have an intere
* Hi Sugaree. Yes I agree that this is a good deed by Wincustomize and I hope it is rewarded. * Hi Alternate Setting. Firstly, I agree whole heartedly with your appreciation of the generosity of the master Skinners. Another good reason to buy some more Master Skins. Secondly, "anything that encourages dialogue between local businesses and Community resources, has got to be good." This asumes that Stardock is just a local business. Thirdly, I am sorry to hear that you feel
G'day from Downunder. 1. I will definately be renewing my subscription. (This was never in doubt.) 2. I congratulate Wincustomize for the great idea of contributing to a charity. 3. I am certain that 'Child's Play' is a terrific charity. I am sure that many children in hospitals really benefit from their work. However, 4. I'm just a little perplexed as to
Hi hastafford. Do you have the latest version of Theme Manager? The suite will apply with this program. Of course you will also need Windowblinds 6 and IconPackager 3.2 OR the entire Object Desktop package for the suite to work. Hope this helps, Commander Phil
Iv'e said it before and I'll say it again. WebGizmos is the DockMaster General! Now all we need is J. Aroche to work on a Magic Wand Cursor and perhaps a Magic Rainy from lovely62 and the Magic would real
I agree totally with Gollums. It would be much better if RIP 2007 AND WC Select showed up in SD Central. I am currently an OD Elite (for a start this name makes me sound like a W**ker), SD Central and Wincustomize subscriber. I would much prefer to download these from SD Central. This simple task shouldn't take the mighty IT gurus at Stardock too much time and effort to set up. PLEEEEEEZE!
I thoght I might keep the high moral standard of this thread going with a little something else I found on the net. This picture is called ' NZ street-walker'. Quite appropriate I thought. How does Jaffo feel about sheep ... Do we know?
Sorry about the link. Try this. WWW Link
I just stumbled on this and could'nt help posting it. As every Aussie knows, you have to give it to the New Zealanders at every possible opportunity. http://tinyurl.com/39luy8 I really fell off my chair and rolled around on the floor when I saw this. I still haven't fully recovered.
Best wishes to the DockMaster General! So does this make you 'Sweet sixteen and never been skinned"?
Looks rather nervously over shoulder. Jaffo was an 'ard man ... but fair.
"and is verified by 3 separate people" I guess this means you've stopped using the Siamese twins as verifiers!!! (Can't let a fellow Aussie get away with this.)
Sorry Sir Starkers, I think you mean "Welease Bwian!" You obviously don't have the latest Python Spellchecker!!!
Happy ending to this story. I ordered it from Purplus (I live in Oz), paid US$7 for regular postage (forget US$22 for home delivery and insurance) and it arrived three days later. Works like a charm!!! Thankyou everybody for your advice. Special thanks to Robert. PS. Looks like the deal with Carrara might be worth
That's terrific Robert. You have been more than helpful. I think I have made my decision. Thanks also for the User Group Link. Phil
Hello again Fairry. I hope you didn't take my initial comments as a personal attack on you. I certainly never intended them as such. Some of the remarks in your first post did not sit well with me and I thought I needed to add my two cents worth. I think we are in total agreement as to the time, effort and talent needed to design some of the wonderful skins on Wincustomize. No need to be so modest either. Ive admired and downloaded some of your rainy's! Now I was
Thanks for the "heads up" Island Dog. I understand what OEM means in theory but I'm not really sure what it means in practice. I assume that it's properly licensed and will be OK to update to future versions. I suppose I'm a little concerned about what if any support is available. Hi Robert. Thanks for your reply. It is very helpful. This will be my first version of PSP and although I've read good re
Hi r7rea, greetings from Oz! Is this the full version (or Academic version) or just the upgrade? I see from the sight that they will post it to Australia for a price. (Even with postage it's less than half the price I'd pay locally.) If this is a "fair dinkum" offer and you can vouch for the product I'll order it ASAP!!!
You've got it bad Smedles! (I mean the skinning bug.) I'm so glad my wife is understanding too Skinhit. It might just be that because she is a mad "scrapper" she understands the time and effort needed to make something look "just right". My wife is happy for me to set up her desktop with matching themes and has some input into the items I use. She has also been very supportive about me getting
Hi Fairyy. I have to take exception to some of your comments. I also have friends who do not get "skinning" and wonder why I spend so much time on the look of my desktop. However I am not yet a competent "skinner", I'm just starting out (getting 'Corel Draw' for my birthday if my wife has heard my rather obvious hints). Because I love to download full themes and use other peoples wonderful work at this sta
