Not in WindowBlinds 5. Only in WindowBlinds 6 which should go into beta soon. So it is a planned feature That's nice. How about semi-glass? Having glass over the desktop wallpaper instead of over the underlying windows, like this:

One of the interesting things I've seen in Aero is that it takes a WinFX (I presume) aware application to have one of those glass toolbars like Explorer and IE have. The most striking example being the driver wizards, which are almost entirely glass. Any non-vista aware application gets a dull old grey toolbar. So I'm wondering, how much do Vista's APIs expose to WindowBlinds regarding Aero effects? Would it be possible to make toolbars, menubars, scrollbars, buttons and status bars gla
Smells to me like these "PNG icons" will simply mean an excuse to have only 1 icon size per icon, as opposed to special viewing-optimized versions for 16x16, 32x32, and 48x48. Aside from this major disadvantage, there are *NO* advantages to using PNG. The windows icon format already has support for full alpha since XP, and the picture sizes are too small to require compression.
I'll be interested in seeing how much the Pro/Enterprise editions will be lined with useless fluff, as is the case with XP today (you have to seriously skim it after installing if you don't like all the bundled gunk). They seem to me like the only serious versions that don't try to extend on XP's vision of making PCs into toys. I'm also very sceptical about if and how a professional UI is going to look for Vista (read: most of the Aero stuff turned off
The normal PushButton image size for an XP visual style is 20x24. When using any kind of gradient, stretched to larger button sizes this will look horrible. I solve this problem using 64x64 input images, and letting the application shrink them to the right size. It works for 99% of applications, except (I haven't noticed it on any other application so far) Firefox and Thunderbird. When displaying a dialog box, the buttons will be 64x64, and it looks, w
