This worked. Fences Pro available showed up. Ran the install and now the correct latest version 1.00.4263 shows in help|about. Thanks for the assist.... Now if we could just get past the ODZip.dll error with Deskscapes 4. Mark

Appolgies if this is answered elsewhere. I am registered user of Object Desktop. I only see the FREE version of Fences being installed. Version history says 1.00.4260 which I believe is not the latest. I understand that Fences and Fences pro will use same directory info or some such, but it seems that I only have the free version installed. I have show beta stuff in preferences as well as show all hidden applications etc. I have run the verify installation and the last Fences update sho

I tried this and it did not work. Registry correctly updated, but the ODzip.dll file in the download was the same as what was already in Common Files as well as DesktopX folders. I fixed this the other day using a system restore point, but I update WB7 today, so that fix is not going to work. Yes, I rebooted also after running the bat file from admin. rights as well as copying/replacing the "identical" .dll file. Running Win7 Ultimate X64 system.....

Update, I ran system restore to yesterday when I was NOT having this ODzip.dll error. DX4 now works with no errors. Very strange. But, I still get that Right Click not installed correctly error after running the verification. I then install the updates and all is well till a reboot for example. I then go thru the same scenarion of installing the update and it works. I have this happen also with WB7. Same scenariothat it's not installed correctly and prompts to run updates. Only difference is

Just adding my quick 2c that I also get that dll error. Also FWIW, I keep going back and forth with Right Click not installed correctly and to run update. It's in a loop on this. I run the update, seems all is well, then at some later point in time, Right Click doesn't work and verifying install has me run the update again. Using Ultimate 7 64 bit here.

Found a workaround...sort of. If I click on comments after the failure, I can get the download icon from the browser itself. Kind of a Micky Mouse work around but it works that way :(

Did everything correctly. Ran the bat uninstaller. Rebooted. Reinstalled. Program updates itself and asks to restart SDC. I run SDC and all the libraries refreshed. But I still get status fail when I attemtp to download anything using the SDC interface. I'm running out of ideas. It's not any antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc. I tried shutting everything off. I still have no problems logging in from IE to wincustomize to download. It's the darn SDC interface that gives me that status fail

I tried first reinstalling on top yesterday, which was a no no. I then uninstalled SDC using Programs and Features, Vista uninstall, then reinstalled and have the failures. I will try the bat file, and a reinstall. And yes, I did redownload the file from your source for th latest SDC setup, when I tried this last night.

FWIW, If I log onto Wincustomize as my registered user, I can download the files with no issues. IOW, I downloaded a WB Christmas 2007.wba and it installed perfectly into the Object Desktop Launchpad:Windows blinds. If I try using Stardock Central, I get the download failures. Anyone else have ideas? Mark
did you try refreshing xml data or changing servers?
I just tried this after looking and finding these options and it is still a no go. The data downloaded when I refreshed and I switched from US1 to US2 server. Still fails download. Very strange since I never had these issues in the past. This is on a Vista 32 bit system with no other issues.

I am logged into Stardock central. Under Skins and Themes I can click and update any library but every download ends up in a status failed. My subscription is current. I have tried turning off any Anti Virus. I can see all the various icons and descriptions but every attempt to download ends up with the message that the download failed. Staus Failed shows next to any icon I try to download ,and failed to download appears in the bottom status bar. I am properly logged into Stardock Central applet

OK...my apologies to all re-thread drift, The following is based on my own individual testing of Ghost 12 and Drive Snapshot. My PC is configured with two 150GB 10,000RPM SATA WD Raptor Drives setup RAID 0. I also have two older Maxtor SATA drives in my box 250GB each, 7200RPM (but going on 4 years old ). Lastly, an old WD 500GB My Book External USB HDD and to round it out, my IPOD 60GB Video Music player. I add t

My custom PC I put together a few months back uses an older duo core E6850 and a P5K Deluxe ASUS MOBO which play fine with Acronis. I would try Ghost 12 to see if it will work with your hardware. And yes too, WB6 works great for me too, but still, backing up is key to computer sanity, IMHO Best..... Mark

You're welcome. (Re-Bart's PE) I ran into utility this years ago, and it's always been a part of any recommendation when I frequent Forums such as here. We still can only guess if the original post here is a disk crash, or OS/software issue based on his posts. One simple boot from a Bart PE disk, Live CD (Linux etc), or one like it, would sure have gone a long way into helping out here. You can go as far as editing your boot.ini to boot to a Barts or LIVE CD environment as a choice, but I hesita

Agreed. I switch off between Acronis Home for full imaging on another HDD and the latest Ghost 12 which is Vista compatible. Ghost 12 actually was quicker on my system, FWIW. Both recognize external USB HDD's which is simple enough for anyone to have for backups. Having built my own desktop that has 6 various HDD's, multiple flavors, RAID setup, etc. I have no reason to really ever worry about a crash or errant software. Everyone really needs to learn new habits...meaning daily backups. The Foru
i now have a bart-pe bootable cd. thanks guys!
I believe that was I who made the Bart PE references. Many tools out there, but this once is really cool, which basically gives you a Windows Lite system to boot to. Then you cab simply diagnose disk crash or Operating System issue, and 95% of the posts here would be uneeded in this thread, IMHO Mark

He posted back already that the system will NOT boot to safe mode. My first post to him gave a method to simply boot to safe mode command prompt, run the command ""rstrui"" which starts the system restore point process to pick an earlier point in time to reboot, PRIOR to installing WB, which would have done the same thing you did. Basically restart the system with windows\system 32 files in a state before he installed any Stardock software. The posts are conflicting pointing to both so

I think it's time to find a qualified repair facility, or someone by your side that can help. Without diagnostic abilities such as the XP recovery console, or a CD that can be booted to read your HDD, not much more I can offer here. Sorry for the bind. I will check back later this afternoon when I get home. IF...you can find something to use to help us here, then possibly this can get figured out, but right now, I would say the operating system is shot. Hopefully you have some sort of data backu
