My system does exceed the minimum requirements 2.8Ghz P4 processor, 1 Gig RAM, 256m ATI Radeon X1950 video card. The game is unplayable. Of course maybe I am supposed to set everything to minimum? Why bother!
Come on, dude, 1gb of RAM is just silly. I could go on about the rest of your systems specs, but there is NO EXCUSE for 1gb of RAM on a gaming PC. Furthermore, it is one thing to be at near minimal specs for an ite

I'd like to see a game mode where every city/town/village is already constructed and held by neutral armies when the game begins. Increase the size of the neutral garrisons as the game progresses. Augment some of the towns with the ability to produce something special (unit, resource, whatever it takes to give it a strategic value). Top

Check and see if you have a campaign save entitled END OF CHAPTER IV or something along those lines. Chapter IV is the region with the trolls in the swamp. For some reason, I somehow managed to fail to complete it, but got chapter V started. I am pretty sure that I failed because I did not go back to the city with the quest giver in it (near where you get the bowmen). Anyhow, I am reloading at END OF CHAPTER III and I am not going to the area with the crystal

Man, the game feels a lot different to me. Some of the first mobs that I encountered had 20, 22, and 32 life! I had to actually learn a couple of offensive spells early, hide behind peasants and omgwork :) By the time I got all these caravan killing cretins dispatched, a kingdom I had not even encountered was destroyed by AI opponents, and I was at war with a twit that had a direct path to my capital. I fought my way down to his forward base of op

Thanks for the answers, guys! I've only seen an underpowered Sovereign once and it was simple bad luck that he ran into my more capable Sovereign. I've not yet seen a suicidal attack and have had a couple of very long wars. Then again, I am playing at beginner, so perhaps they are less aggressive as result. Top

I started a small map game earlier today and encountered a ruler fairly early. I was researching nothing but summoning spells and my ruler had a pretty good crew as a result. I beat the guy and he escaped. Beat him again quite a few turns later - yeah, he escaped once more. Finally, in his last city, he failed to make it to the escape pod - and I now had 2 more leaders to go, but only one approach to guard. I positioned myself in the mountain pass while a long

I bought it yesterday. I played for 3.5 hours with no lock-ups or problems. I was on a small map with a limited number of AI opponents and finished around turn 260. Everything that I have read here suggests that another ~100 turns or so and I would get to start experiencing some crashes. Anyhow, it is more than stable enough to learn the game and to have some fun. Since this is PC gaming, your experience may differ from mine. Top
You're saying Elemental is even a contender for the year's biggest flop? LOL - see APB. Nothing beats that.
I dunno. You should look at how Stargate Worlds pretty much died this year. Ponzi schemes, a CEO who was basically hiring additional wives, and all sorts of madness coming from MMongul. Reading about it soaked up a good 2-3 hours. Totally nuts. But yeah, for a game that was actual

Ok, I played my first game just a few minutes ago and I came away with 2 unanswered questions... First, on the Empire side of the screen, my communities have a series of red and blue boxes next to them. I am guessing red is bad (a shortage of some type) while blue is good (a surplus of some sort, perhaps). Anyhow, what do they represent? I also never got around to casting a strategic spell, largely because I was low on mana. That aside, it was not clear

To be able to say, "I told you so," you would have to have actually told us how this was going to play out. You didn't. We also failed to get telepathic flashes, empathic quivers, or even an email warning us. So yeah, you are sounding pretty much like you missed some meds today, your highness. Top

You guys should just get mad-dog crazy with Elemental. Everytime you hit a milestone and there is a concensus that it has improved the game, jack the price up by $5. And never, ever put it on sale. If it is on fire, you might as well have some fun with it. Top

Turing the pirates off is the better option, imo, however it does make a 1vs1 battle tougher since you cannot just buy an early ally. (Later you get to learn that the AI was really leveling up 2-3 capital ships off all your pirate buds.) For me, and I lost my first 3 or 4 games in a row, the turning points were: 1) discovering that a capital ship factory comes with a free capital ship which you can queue while the factory is under construction &

It is pretty common for me to create a battery of defensive guns/missiles sometimes with a star base at the center, but my fleet is forever running to engage the enemy. What I want is to force the enemy into my blender of destruction and rushing off to engage them prevents that from happening. Is there a command that can force my fleet to stay parked where I tell them to go? And if so, what is the command to release them. Thanks! Top
