Sheesh, it's only $20...you like it, you buy it. There's not much worthwhile for free nowadays. You're profile says you're 30 years old, you can't find 20 bucks??

Yeah...amazing how those skinners could make WB's for an unreleased operating system...

I would think it would be more like 10 Vista skins and 200 pages of XP....look again??

That was my something, and much more than I had to start with. I spent over a year just making Logon Studio logons and trying to find out how to make the Splash logons. I barely knew Photoshop and it took a week or two to figure out how to make a decent working splash even after I has Sphynx's tut. And then I had to learn the code...and I'm by no means a programmer. <img src="http://images.s

Bebi, first off there's no way to do an easy-to follow tutorial. It may not seem like it, but a lot goes into making them. The first thing that is necessary before anything is the ability to create a working "Splash". Photoshop is necessary, and of the hundreds of people I've taught, maybe a dozen have gotten that far. There is a tut by GreatSphynx here at WC..."How to create a transparent bmp_128." WWW Link

Those logons are generally called "Splash" logons. They can't be made using Logon Studio, they use a totally different set of files. Logon Studio is only used to apply them. You make the graphics and replace them in the logon folder itself and then apply them with LS. And a few of the .bmps, including the center panel, or "Splash", have to be 32 bit alpha blended .bmps that pretty much require Photoshop to make. If you only want to make one for personal use, you can

it doesn't seem to be a fair system at all. Same thing for the rating's system for those who care about ratings...it never seems fair. But Zubaz put it short and sweet as far as what skinning should be about.

I have to agree..I seriously doubt the ones giving promotions could care less if the skinner is male or female. Talent and contributing to the community will usually win every time. I do, however, believe you are due for a promotion. In my opinion you've more than surpassed apprentice qualifications.

Are you using the English language version of XP? Logon Studio doesn't work with some languages. Do you have a wireless adapter connected to your computer. Some will not allow Logons to work.

You need to crop off the bottom 100 pixels of the wallpaper, and use 1024x668 for the center panel and the 1024x100 piece for the bottom panel. It takes practice, but if you get it right, you won't see where the 2 pieces meet when you apply the logon.

Logon Studio does not work with some languages, and Chinese is one of them. There's no fix as far as I know. You might try Logon Loader. WWW Link It won't work with the .logonxp format that Logon Studio does, but a .logonui.exe format. You can find a lot of them here: WWW Link Good luck! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile

Wow Zubaz, I'm impressed...someone listened to me! Altinhk, you can't rewrite that line. Are you trying to create a logon or do you have a problem with a logon you downloaded? If it's one you downloaded, don't open it in the Logon Studio Editor or it can corrupt the file and give it that error. What logon is it? I can check it out for you and let you know if it has a problem. <img s

Isn't this the kind of stuff that keeps you working terpfan?? If it was easy, you could be out of work. It's part of your job...you deal with it, and you move on to the next problem. Realize what's out there and what and who you are working for and take care of it. It's all part of being an adult and doing the job you were hired for. Just because you may know what you are doing doesn't mean everybody else does... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.g
