The black that shows in the alpha channel will not show when you use it as a splash....it will be transparent. Anything white in the alpha channel will show fully opaque. Shades of gray define the level of transparency....closer to white...more opaque. Closer to black, more transparency.

I just tried it, it downloaded and installed fine. If it is a .logonxp file and doesn't load, try this: Rename the file from Caramel Mac.logonxp to Caramel Mac.zip. Unzip the file and put the Caramel Mac folder in C:\Program Files\Wincustomize\Logon Studio. Then open Logon Studio and it will be in the list of logons. Sometimes Logon Studio has weird quirks and won't load a logon right on some computers. If that works, you can load new logons that way

Do any of the logons that came with Logon Studio work? And which one are you trying to load? Is it a .logonxp file or a .zip. I need more info to work with.

The only time I see a message like that with Logon Studio is if you use another logon program, like StyleXP or Logon Loader, and then open Logon Studio. It will say the Logon Studio is no longer registered as the logon program and ask if you want it to be. If you click "Yes" it will work fine and you should be able to load the logons in Logon Studio.

Yeah...email on the way to you. You don't need ResHacker or anything like that. All the graphics you just create and replace in the Logon template I linked to and use Logon Studio to apply it and see what needs changing.

Thanks quentin...got it. Hey Stephen, For the graphics in my logons, I use Photoshop. The wallpapers, Bryce, C4d, Vue, MojoWorld, Photoshop..just depends what I have that I like. Logon Studio is only used to apply the logons. They can't be created or edited in it. You have to start with

Jpg in a zip. Bitmaps are far to big for people to want to download. If you have Photoshop, save them at a decent quality...300kb to 600kb or so is pretty good, and the quality difference isn't very noticeable. 800x600 isn't really necessary....it's the same aspect ratio as 1024x768 and will work fine. Other than that...widescreen if you can. 1680x1050 and 1280x800 would be good.

These kinds of blogs are nothing but an excuse to get a fight started. Useless crap meant to give people a way to spout their "right" view at someone else's "wrong" view about things that most people who have a brain wouldn't waste their time on.

I hear ya. I'm but a humble Logon skinner and as of now, unless you want to hack into the system files, only the wallpaper can be changed. Guess I'll stick with XP ones for now...or if I want a ton of downloads, I could spend 10 minutes and make a couple hundred Vista ones and upload them.

WindowBlinds has not been activated correctly on this PC. Please activate it from SDC. Download Stardock Central, enter the serial number you got with your purchase, and while you're there, download the newest build. Everything done in one shot.
