Thanks Jafo, and sorry, I missed the 15 second ruling.

I think one of the problems that will only get bigger with this new policy of letting walls from somewhere else with permission, is that Moderators actually have a life. They don't spend hours going to different sites, looking at skins and walls and whatever else. So lots of things get missed that many of us that spend too much time on the computer will catch. And I'm pretty sure they don't have the time to open every zipped skin or wall to check the permissions either, like
I use Acronis True Image and do a FULL disk backup, usually ever 3 to 5 days, save it to my external drive and then delete one of the old backups. Takes about 20 minutes and it's saved me more times than you can count. You can also back up just specific folders if you want. Hell, you've been around long enough...do it now! I'm a freak about emptying the Recycle Bin prett
Wouldn't your latest theme be in the Recycle Bin? You wouldn't have emptied it that quick would you?
Or...it's Vista Home Basic.
What version of Vista? And yes, the System info from WB would help.
Yeah, and what about "Floppies". That was fun to say. But I guess that could have had sexual undertones also. Although "Hard" drive is still around.
Go to bed.
It's been decided, except for the separate gallery. And they have plenty to do besides create more galleries. WWW Link
You need to crop the wallpaper into 2 pieces. The top panel you set to "False". The wall will fill in that area. The bottom panel is set to 100 pixels by default. So if you start with a 1280x1024 wallpaper, you need to open it in your graphics program and crop 100 pixels off the bottom of the wall and use that as the bmp for the bottom panel. Then the remaining piece, 1280x924, you use for the center panel. It takes some practice, but if you get it just ri
5 more minutes until April 1 here in California..I thought maybe hell had frozen over when I saw the thread.
Press ctrl+alt+del twice and it will get you to the XP login screen. If it askes for a password, just press OK. Once you get logged in, open Logon Studio and change to another logon and apply it. If you were editing a logon, I would guess you set the user account settings to 0%. The default is 50%. Hope that works for you.
The Chinese language pack is the problem. I believe somebody else solved the problem by switching back to the English pack. With some languages, such as French or Spanish, some key words like True, False that are used in the theme.ini file can be changed from English to that language to work. But from all that I've heard, Chinese does not work at all.
simliu, are you using the English version of XP? Logon Studio won't work with some languages. Do the logons that come with Logon Studio work? More information about your system would help.
Maybe the Cabana boy knows...
As long as the person has permission or the wallpaper was designed to be widely distributed and it's good then I want it here. The High Frog has spoken. And so it shall be. Sorry for the trouble, AzDude.
The point is, why use Wincustomize's bandwith to host wallpapers from other sites by people that don't even know what a Wincustomize is? If you want to email them and tell them about WC and have a look and see if they want to post here, fine. But I just don't see the point of getting premission and posting somebody else's work here. "Contributing to the community" doesn't work in this case for me somehow.
There were line breaks there, and this should only be in the Forums...guess I should create Forum posts more often....or none at all.
I ran across something new to me here today, posting someone else's wallpaper, unaltered, from another site with permission. My question is..Why? The explanation was that the uploader liked the wallpaper and wanted to share it with the community. Certainly many many walls are used here in Bootskins, Logons, and Screenshots with and without permission because people like them. But to post an unaltered wallpaper created by someone else that is posted at another site, with permission from
StyleXP won't hurt anything. I have them both installed because occasionally I have a request for one of my logons in logonui.exe format and I use StyleXP to make sure they work in that format before I post them. But I create my logons in .logonxp format to be used with Logon Studio and that is what I use all the time. As far as I'm aware...StyleXP doesn't hack any files. It replaces .logonu
