I'm bawled my eyes out as I read this. Oh the pain, sadness and sorrow that's in this world.
I know Lula. My heart still hurts...it's dragged me down to such a degree, I can't even articulate it.
I think the Superintendent was accurate in his statement. The guy was just looking to commit suicide. That is the only way he could have fired at and missed everyone.
I don't care how he rationalizes not acting to protect a woman who was trying to save his life. All those men are weak in my eyes. Every single one of them. (I know, like they care...lol)

Yesterday. In the Chemo Chair next to mine. A child. My son’s age. His mother’s face, oh my god, his mother’s face. Creases deep enough for an an entire fingertip. Inside. I shattered. I was strong and steady up until then. But something died inside me yesterday, shriveled black and stinking in the presence of the child’s pain. And his mother’s. And for the first time I thanked God for my breast cancer.

That old woman with the purse, the one who hit him? Her name is Ginger. And that woman and her "may I help her" friend have more courage than any of the men in that room imo. She was willing to lay down her life for them. And they watched. Something I am not wholly unfamiliar with...though it was nothing near this.....<a href="http://lifehap

Don't know if you've seen the news, but in Panama City, Florida at a school board meeting, a man pulls a gun. He ends up firing it at the Superintendent, and eventually dies on scene. He lets people leave. It's all on video. My question is ..WHERE ARE THE MEN ? Oh yeah, they're sitting

I don't know how you kept sane in a 3 bedroom with 7 people. It's great to have so many memories. Germany is one for many military families, though I don't believe I've ever read of one so well written before..... Thanks!

If you’re old enough to remember playing Dungeons and Dragons, you probably have stories to tell. A very talented friend from college, David Nett , is writing/directing/producing a web series based on such a tale. He’s not alone of course, there are many people involved in creating a web series*. I don't think the government can ever "solve" unemployment. It's not a legislative problem. It's an attitude (right of entitlement) problem. Even now, during the recession, m y local newspaper is FULL of job offerings every single week. Why do they go unfilled? Many businesses are looking for workers. Businesses that are not glamorous and require actual physical labor.

Well, the 7 pounds are gone, + 3...I think I spent the last 4 days running to the bathroom! Up and down all night long.....and lost 10 pounds in 4 days (not really tho, 7 pounds of that was chemo)...omgoodness...yeah, um, I'd rather be fat. [e digicons]:S[/e] Ok, so they told me 24-72 hours after treatment I will likely have the "worst" symptoms (nausea, fatigue, mouth sores, yadda yadda).
It's a strange sensation living in these times. They'll have every known cancer defeated "utterly" in about 25 to 30 years. Just that teeny bit late for a lot of us. It's like missing that plane by 2 seconds. But at least our sprogs should benefit.
I don't think cancer will ever be cured. But hope I'm wrong. :)
My youngest loves Johnny Cash as well - it was the movie that hooked him. I hope the train is not too bumpy for you.
There's never been any other kind of trip for me Doc. I would be disappointed if it was easy. But thanks!
I can vouch for the big red purse and the over abundance of talking but that's what makes you...you! They say your purse says alot about who you are. Some like littl

My sympathies to Elizabeth's family. I watched some fairly unflattering video of her ranting like a banshee in a parking lot some years ago. I didn't know about her BC at the time....but looking back it all makes sense. She was dying, losing her beauty, and her husband couldn't wait with being bothered for her to die. In fact (if you read my blog, ahem!~) he rolled up into first class and she wa
Who ever would have thought an article about getting chemotherapy could be so upbeat and interesting?!!
My cousin swears ALL things are possible through Johnny Cash who singith to him. Yes I am very glad I have the port. It is almost worth the price of a punctured lung. Almost.
Well, you just answered all the questions I asked in the letter! I'm so glad you are a fighter and that awesome boy

[e digicons][/e] Please ignore typos and grammatical errors... I don't have a lot of time or patience for editing this today! And Gavin really does like Johnny Cash. Heard him on a neighbor's radio and wants the CD. lol.

Today I went for the first big Chemo treatment of 6. This regime involves a cocktail of three chemotherapies: Taxotere, Carboplatin, and Herceptin (TCH) every three weeks, and I go in once a week for the Herceptin between the big cocktail. After 18 weeks (barring problems) I go to Herceptin every 3 weeks up to 52 weeks, and start radiation, 7 weeks. Then Tamoxifen for five years. Mo
