Hey M! Good to see you, though I wish it were under better circumstances for you. Did you have a job lined up before you quit the Navy? Hope things work out with the wife. When a breadwinner is unemployed, it has to be very difficult for everyone.
I really enjoyed spending time with you this visit, but hate to read how much craziness you went through to get home. And since you're sharing airport stories, I'm going to write an article about one of mine.

Update: Saw the plastic surgeon and he said the infection is gone!!! WOO HOO!!!! And that if I take it easy the hole should be closed, or the first layer of closing, by next week. Woot. Double woot. So I will start chemo on the 7th, 14th at the latest...if er, nothing else happens.... This is the first good news I've had since Septemebe
Chemo is postponed until the incision heals or December 7th (next week). Day 6 of antibiotics and ya know? My boob feels decent for the first time since surgery 5 weeks ago. Not the constant throbbing pain....hmmm.
I don't know if I have favorite Christmas movies now...I did as a kid. I loved the Grinch, Rudolph, and the one with the abandoned toys on the island?? Now I can take them or leave them. Isn't that tragic?

Sounds like a pretty typical permanent change of station (PCS) to me. When my friends ask about what it was like to move every 12-36 months for 23 years, I tell them...imagine packing everything you own in two days...(won't take longer than that because you only get a certain amount of weight)...then watch as everything you own pulls away and know you may, or may NOT ever see those things again. <s
