At least you are going on your vacation. The last two comanies I worked at was a night mare. The last one was a small consulting company. The told us we had to take our vacation time since it is a liability on their accounting books. But whenever I asked for vacation time I couldn't get it because we were too busy. So end of the year comes and I haven't used any of my vacation. So my boss comes to me and asks me why I haven't used any and how it's hurt

Alot of the current stem cell lines were contaminated and are not really viable for research. The work done by the Korean scientists is what's really interesting. Creating a stem cell line from a doner so it's a genetic match to the donor. This is where the science will get interesting. Creating a replacement organ with your own genetic stem cell lines means no rejection and no need for the expensive cocktail of anti-rejection drugs. So in a sense this

But aren't Jedis supposed to be unemotional? They are supposed to control their emotions and not get attached. So maybe the reaction was exactly right on Obi Wan's part. Or maybe Lucas just knows he can't make a movie with decent dialog and real emotions and this was perfect for him, make the Jedis lacking in the emotional department.

This is something I used to think about and had discussed with friends over a camp fire many times. I have some friends that are extremely religious (if you can call it that). They go to church, go to confession, talk to everyone else about it and warn us we will go to hell if we don't convert or take it seriously. Then the guy get's drunk every weekend, gets in a car and has no problem with that. When we ask him what if he hits someone and kills them

Alot of times fresh fruits and vegetables are not as nutritious as forzen or canned. For example: According to research from Pennsylvania State University, a bag of spinach that has been stored at 39 degrees Fahrenheit for eight days has lost half of its folate and carotenoids, compounds known for their importance in preventing birth defects, fighting heart disease and preventing blindness and cancer. And at higher temperatures, the

"equal PROTECTION under the law" that's a load of bull. I was driving once and got behind a car tailgating another car. They were both going below the speed limit. I didn't want to get stuck behind them and I don't really feel safe being behind someone who is tailgating another car. I decided to pass them so I sped up and changed lanes (I was in the right lane). The cars in the left lane were flying by and I had to match their spped to merge into the l

I heard it on the radio, they interviewed a doctor. I wish I had more details. But to be honest I don't trust a majority of the studies. I majored in math and took a course in uses and abuses of statistics. There are so many ways to make the results represent what you want them to represent that it's hard to trust anything you hear

It was a flawed study. They did not look at prior history. There were too many "skinny" people in the study that lost weight because they were suffering from a terminal illness. They did not take this into account which skewed the results.

My friend worked as a bouncer at a club before. The worst night were the all-ages nights. That was the only time they brought in metal detectors and searched everyone. And it was a guarantee that there would be a bunch of fights on those nights too. The club stopped throwing all-ages nights because it was just too much trouble. On all other nights you would rarely see even a makings of a fight let alone a full out brawl. Also I have no idea wh

The Canadian governement basically said that. When there was a protest by some University students over sky rocketing tuition some members of parliament said that it is the resposibility of the younger generation to bear the burden of the governement over spending. It'e not the burden of the people who actually caused the problem.

Go for the Dell UltraSharp 2001FP. Had a great review on anandtech.com. Also my friend owns one and I can tell you it looks great. Right now you can pick it up for $506.75 shipped. Just check out techbargains.com for the coupons. You can't beat that price for an LCD that does 1600x1200.

I find it funny how people want to justify driving gas guzzlers and then use logic like supply and demand. If people want to drive gas guzzlers they should have the right and no legislature should be put in plavce to stop it. But when gas prices go up again because of supply and demand we get outraged and demand that something be done about it. That the government should step in prevent the increases in gas prices. In the end people are just s

There is a group of people from British Columbia, Canada offer permanent tatoes for advertising. They have been doing it for while now. So he is definately not the first. Just depends if you happen to end up in the main stream media first if you are given the credit with coming up with the idea. Also if you get more exposure in the main stream media you will probably end up getting higher bids.

You might want to try this. I had a lot of problems with my phone company. Getting over charged, bogus long distance phone calls (on dyas when I was on holiday) and eventually being charged even after I cancelled my phone. What I started to do was every time I called to talk to them I would tell them I was recording the conversation for my records. The next time I had to call them back I played back the converstaion from the last time and you wouldn't

My mom works in a plant that has a Union. Unfortunately she is one of the few people that works hard no matter what. There are only a few people like her in the plant. The show up every day, work when they are sick, work hard and don't complain. Unfortunately because of that they get the worst jobs in the factory. The best workers get treated the worst. And all the lazy people there get to breeze by because of the Union.

I don't think it's really right to say the Miscrosoft ripped of the Mac when making Windows. Charles Simonyi started working at MS before Bill Gates saw the Mac demo and Charles Simonyi worked for Xerox Park. So to be perfectly fair both MS and Apple ripped off Xerox and Apple can't make any claim otherwise.
