Even un-registered versions (certainly when applying OB Minimalism) should work fine. There are some options disabled that you would otherwise have in the enhanced version, but the software in either case is solid. Make sure you have downloaded MCP and have it installed and only use (either DX or OB) skins for that version you're using. You should be OK on any skin with OB, but DX has had many new betas out and a lot of the skins are for newer versions(versions you can't get). Having said that,

After digging a little I think your stuck...I removed both 'recent' and 'desktop' from showing a long time ago so I wasn't sure...I did right click on desktop and all the icons showing are Windows default (those two included). In Iconpackager config/others you should have an icon setting for each one of those (the two you showed included) that you can change...some Windows icons will, by default, not change, but I think these two will......

Do not shut that process down. It runs with both DX2 and OB. Go into SDC and make sure you have latest versions of OB. DX and MCP. Versions you're looking for are OB- 1.60a(b).001...DX- 1.99n(b).002....MCP- 0.60(b).002.
