Viewing from the comments on certain sites concerning the vid. Many who don't know about the game were not impressed. Some seemed concern that it is like Supcom, in that you have to play zoomed out. Questions were asked about if it is true 3d or if you can move in the x,y and z coordinates. Since its almost release time. Ironclad and Stardock should start creating some good cinematic trailers showing off the games capabilities, instead of showing beta testing vids from outdated code.
The final version strikes a good balance between 4X and RTS. It's definitely a lot more 4X than Beta 4.
Thats what I like to hear!
A demo will be at least a month after the retail release. If you check out the Sins forums, you can ask the beta testers about it. Sins isn't some click-fest, twitchy RTS; it allows you to seriously think about strategy and has more depth than any RTS I'm aware of.
Ok, I am beginning to be sold on this. How is the AI? Is it a non-cheating AI that plays by the same rules as the player?

I acquired this game exclusively for the well documented, non-cheating AI (on intelligent level). I am with you on this. Some are saying it is no big deal and only psychological, because you can beat the AI like you did before you know the cheat existed. I don't care. I bought both DL and DA cause I like the idea of a no cheating feature...hmmm..that too was psychological I guess...so, I hope it gets fixed.

This is similiar to my situation also. If this issue is not fixed then I may just stop playing this game for awhile and go back to Civilization IV and some others. Civilization IV, Beyond the Sword expansion is due out in July! Hmmm...I was on the fence with this one. But, the more I consider this - I will definately be playing more of Civ IV and others until this bug is fixed. I am not one to play for a long time and now I feel forced to play on and not

If the developers think its going to be too much of a difficulty fixing the bug - then so be it - carry on with the upgrades in version 1.7. Just DON'T claim the game is playing with a level playing field anymore. I can accept either option. But, that special factor on non-cheating many players brag about on different forums concerning GalCiv, will just have to be scrapped.

Does anyone know if the rebate coupon that comes with the Gold Edition can be used for Galciv2 dreadlords that was originally purchased by download? I hear the coupon needed the cover of the dreadlords manual and download purchasers of galciv 2 dreadlords didn't get a manual.

Well, it's about $17 for me. Cause its 44.95 USD and i'm in canada, so that end up costing 53.28 after conversion. If I had bought it at Amazon.ca for example- it would be 39.99 * 15% tax and no shipping cost = about $46. $10 to shipping to get the box from Stardock - and overall I will
