Best way to use the trade enhancements offered by star bases is to trade with a planet the is in the same grid line as you. If you start off in sector 0,0 and trade with some one in 5,0 then has SB with all the trade add-ons you can reap some serious cash. I generally try to start off in the middle of the screen as that is where the AI sends there freighters first. You can't tell it by this creation of myself (yet) as I have not sumitted to this account, but with numerous games submit
