Steroids, by definition, blow a person up.
Cathy never mentioned this. She's on steriods right now. She's calling it a steriod high. She loves it. It makes her feel really really good she says. She called me last Monday with bad news. Her breast cancer is very very agressive as well and had already spread thru her whole body before they discovered it this time. They just found a tumor pressing on her lungs. Sh
the first thing I thought of is I know three ladies who were thin before breast cancer and are still thin after breast cancer. I know my friend Cathy had arm motion problems as a result of taking lymph nodes out but today is fine (8 years later). She started out heavy but lost weight and just recently lost 20 lbs while fighting this latest bout of cancer. While she's glad she lost the weight she's not happy it had to happen this way. I think it's diff for
I love Bill Cosby! I still watch the re-runs whenever I come across them. I cannnot change the channel. Never gets old. Carol Burnett used to have that same effect on me. Loved her too.
You are more than a disease, more than a diagnosis but right now you do need to give it that same 150% you are known for. All that other stuff was just prepatory for the real life battle you're going thru now. It's ok to focus and give extra time on this cancer right now because it's demanding your attention like nothing before and you need to deal with it to keep it under control. Once you have a complete diagnosis and know exactly wh
The woman at the medical center was your gift from God. I belive this to be true Tova. Follow your instincts guided by the Holy Spirit. There's no need to dread change. Think positive (as much as you can during such a troubling time) and remember all things happen for a reason. Things have a way of turning around in ways that not only are unexpected but can be quite pleasant in the end. Look at this as a time of growth, in more ways than one. </
The logical conclusion for this muddled thinking is that no one should be prosecuted for any crimes sine they are supposed to act on their inclinations.
exactly.... many could use as their defense they were born angry and because of it committed whatever crime they are now facing. Now re-reading this article I could use this to go along with my current blog "Nothing But the Truth." Gayle, stood up and spoke the truth not only in the face of fier
Yes, and according to my son, he says there is much subjectivity in science, more than people realize. Follow the money trail. Reminds me of the letter written to Charles Darwin by his wife Emma accusing him of suppressing evidence that would contradict his theory. No different today. also thinking about the mismanaged funds in LA where 8 were arrested for mishandling $50M in funds. Looks like the corruption ran so deep it involved personnel who
Whereever there's money there's a following. It's like a case of only friends money can buy. Everything she does is brightly illuminated for the masses to see. When the money is gone, will the people still be around to glorify her like they do now?
People are afraid. If they stand up for the truth, what will happen? Will they lose their friends? Family? Their reputations? I can't help but think of the guy who boarded the bus this week and spoke the truth against his daughter's bullies. Some may not want to hear what he had to say, but he spoke it anyway. It had to be said. What went on between the blind man and the religious leaders of his day is not exclusive to t
The love of truth is a rare commodity these days. Critical thinking has become a lost art. We're living in an age of "if it feels good it must be good" and "if it's true for you", great but don't expect me to join in. My truth and your truth are not in sync nor does it have to be because there is no such thing as truth anymore. This morning I was studying about a blind man from birth who was healed by Jesus. Most know the leaders of the day (th
of course. If you want to change a generation you start with the children. Old as the hills. Used to be the parents, family and peers influenced the kids. In modern times, the government and businesses both seek to take that job away. There's a clash going on in many households between the parents and the culture like never before. Follow the money trail... it's a war out there!
I see how she says its a good thing because now there is a treatment to disrupt that communication (Herceptin).
exactly. That's what she meant and why she said it was better than what she has. She cannot take herceptin. Her cancer now is not cureable. They can keep her on meds (which she'll be for the rest of her life) and keep switching them out as she becomes immune with lots of diff alternatives until they run out. T
I am on the phone now with my friend who is on her second bout and she agrees with you. Her first cancer was aggressive and she said not to get scared. The tough part is just not knowing. Making a well informed decision is a good thing after knowing all the facts she said. She also said your cancer is better than what she has since you are HERS positive and she's negative. She said she can't take herceptin but you can. Herceptin slows do
the vice versa is up to you.
there is no vice versa.
should be between 9 am to 2pm though...surgery will take about 3 hours...
I'll be in prayer for you tomorrow. Let me know later how things went and I'll bring you up for prayer on Wednesday night. We've had so many awesome answers to prayer it's unreal. 19 days ago a 19 year old grandson of one of our members was in a coma looking like he was going to die from a motorcycle accident (going 80 mph with no helmet hitting a tree). Anyhow he took
Today in church they announced one of the ladies had just finished her radiation. I had no idea she had cancer. She has a full head of hair and she looks so good I would have never have thought she was under going treatments. Be thinking of you tomorrow T...what time is your surgery?
The hardest part is not drowning in your own saliva
too late..I think I already did just reading how good it sounds... :)
once I lose my hair and skin, I doubt I'll be getting much in the way of compliments...
not all chemos do this. You'll have to find out what kind of chemo you're going to have. I know one person who didn't lose hair but as far as I know the rest of my friends did. But they all got their hair back and look just like they did (if not better) on the other side of chemo and radiation. Two of the ladies like the way their hair grew back bet
I'm going to try this. Sounds good and easy.
for all I know the guy is a total nut who is wrong about virtually everything else.
So far, I think he has a better pulse on things than most these days. If he's nuts than I must be too, because he makes more sense to me than the other loonies singing their tunes.
You can have three packs of the oh-so-boring-and-not-good store brand (don't eat this, don't do that) for the same price, or one divine pack of the real thing (be sensible, but go for the real deal).
sounds quite reasonable to me because I have the same theory...who wants the fakearoos when you can have the real stuff? But for now you may want to stick with the real grapes instead of the real oreos!! :)
Unfortunately for JU, I will likel
This cancer STILL doesn't show up on mammo, but it is big as day on the ultra sound. I found the lump in the shower.
it seems as tho that's how most cancers are found. Can't tell you how many times I've heard woman go for their yearly mammos and ended up finding a lump months later including my friend with the stage 4 breast cancer. She said it was so far back they couldn't see it. I have never had a mammo and don't plan on getting one anytime so
What a wonderful prayer Lula. He must be a special brother to send you such a nice prayer like that. Consider yourself blessed in the brother dept. :)
I'm so sorry to hear about this Tonya and while I can't even pretend to know what kind of terror is going thru your mind right now, especially with two kids at home, thinking about their well-being, I can offer you some encouragement. I have had quite a few friends go thru this and come out just fine. Not one of them has died. I think they all say they're even better for the experience. I have three woman friends right now going thru it
