You have more people shit talking DotA in this thread than you do people saying its the best thing since sliced bread. Infact most DotA players are saying there's room for both. I prefer DotA but I like variety thats my thing. The diversity is light years ahead, but it's also been out for years so it's got a huge headstart. DG fanboys have to realize that with
Quoting Istari, reply 17Guys, please treat each other with respect. Dota players and Demigod players should be friends. It pains us when people see these games as competitors when we thought part of the objective here is to help expand a fresh new genre into the gaming world. Unless Dota or Demigod players think this type of game is doomed to be a niche then why is there always so much animosity? <b
Quoting Ouchy Dathurts, reply 7Comparing DotA to DG is like comparing starcraft to DoW2 What? No. Starcraft and DoW2 are very different. First of all, SC doesn't have heroes, no cover, no capture points, and you build bases. The unit cap is much higher, etc... What YOU did is compare apples to oranges, but DotA to DG is not apples to oranges. DG is like DotA's younger, more refined brother. edit

I'll always play DotA too. I'll be playing DotA long after I quit this or any other game. It's a way to hang out with friends who've moved states. We all hop on and play around. I think people get mad at the DotA crowd because yes, DotA players are assholes. I'll be the first to admit it. They have short fuses because the game takes more time to learn than any other game I've ever played, which needless to say is hundreds. The learning curve is so steep and your team ca
As a host for my DotA mates, I can say with 100% certainty that WC3 is server to client with the host acting as the server. The viability of custom kick is the absolute proof that the system is not peer to peer since none of the other players have any input whatsoever. There are other evidence: Whenever there is a lag spike, the client will run the simulation at increased speed to match the host's state; there are never desync
Custom kick is an external third party program. Shadowfrench's custom kick (which no longer works) was just a program you can, sniff peoples IPs, and kick the person you want gone. Now that that doesnt work you need visual custom kick which is an amazing little program. You still kick people via the same method but you can do all sorts of other crap with it. It'll type in the game mode for you, you can have it name the game for you, it can remove the countdown (5,4,3,2,

In custom games, all players connect to a single server(the host), in which the host sends information to all the other players. Player(2) and player(3) don't communicate directly I believe. If the host goes down, than the game searches for a new one. If it can't find one, than the game ends.Source?
&nb
CD's cost 28 dollars because record companys are fucking retarded. Most people don't want a CD in this day and age. I still buy them because I've got this strange necessity to actually have the physical copy of the item. People don't want to pay 15 bucks for a CD with 2 good songs. They want to just hit itunes and DL the 2 good songs for 2 bucks. The record companies cant wrap their heads around it so they take a slamming, and for good reason. You run a horrible business that preys on artists
