AJC...I may have to pick your brains over the LiteSTEP issue....I'm still looking into it at the moment to find out where it goes potty...

No, the ratings in themselves don't help the artist....but then they are not strictly intended to. The artist is better served by comments on the work, where the value and significance of the comment can be assessed by seeing who made it. Perhaps similar could be done for the ratings, except a 'true' opinion of a work may be softened by the intimidation of embarassment if you were to rate a friend's work poorly...<img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0
Can't be done in WinAMP 2x. There is no coded colour mask for WinAMP. You can only create transparencies in WinAMP with the regions.txt coordinates format. Other Proggies are usually coded for the 'magic pink' trans....255 0 255...
The 'true judge, the masses' will have every Wallpaper collection ending up as Britney Spears getting hot and sweaty with a Windows XP logo....probably in blue.... In WinAMP, the same will apply.... In LiteSTEP/Hoverdesk/Nextstart/DesktopX, it will be XP themes [with the Britney wall]....[of course, that was once Matrix themes]....<img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokegr
I have just installed it....testing it for my local comp shop with its network gaming....I was providing Litestep interfaces for their comps so that the kiddies couldn't get into the systems and frag them. Trouble is, it seems some menu configs require access to Exploder, the shell, in order to function, so it seems I have found the first real game to not like LiteSTEP. Shall keep experimenting, though...<img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
No, Xymantix, Rule 0 would be RTFM....
Listen to Maxim...
But BoXXi, that gallery you go to doesn't show you everything it has....there is someone in the back room making decisions on what is, and isn't displayed. And it's essentially for the same reasons, too.....space availability....
I thought I had answered this one over at DeviantArt....basically exactly what Hippy said....
BoXXi....the true mark of the rating system is when sufficient ratings have been applied to form a sensible average. Some people seem to think that dramatically influencing the scores by posting a 1 or a 10 will make a difference, but in the long term, they will hopefully be lost in the averaging....
I really MUST set all this as a macro to paste into message boards... Once in Exploder again, open a file manager, and check the path to your LiteSTEP......cut and paste the folder/s so that they follow the path .... c:\Litestep\etc.... With the litestep.exe residing in the litestep directory. That is the NORMAL configuration for litestep. Then, you can re-edit your system.ini to point the
Reboot the computer....press F8 as you do, and get to the startup menu... Choose command prompt only... Type... edit c:\windows\system.ini Press enter In the [boot] section... edit the 'shell=' line Probably says... Shell=c:\program files\litestep\litestep.exe at the moment... It should have been... Shell=c:\litestep\litestep.exe Normally... But... Chenge it to... Shell=explorer.exe Save, and reboot. You will now be back in norm
Depending on what OS you are using....assuming Windows 98.....the solution is simple...
Been in Architecture for nearly 30 years, so, needless to say, I'll be building my own, too.....once all these mongrels stop annoying me with their houses to design. My current 'workstation' dates back to '87....a hurried set-up after moving house....still haven't replaced it...
You could try posting a screenshot on the various sites, with a comment calling for PPL to recognise the wall... Just make sure it is not a usable wallpaper shot....so there is no arguments about reposting another's work...
.....and Taylor was never heard from ever again....
Well, things started going down-hill when trying to add ICQPlus 3...it wouldn't take, and now exploder has lived up to its name....haha...good thing I can boot into 'STEP instead...just pickled the original shell, that's all... But... Deleted Plus again, and will try to regain control of my system....even the virus proggy is having second thoughts now.....I'm hoping I haven't caught a bug from 'Pl
If you are in LiteSTEP, there's no need for sysmeter to monitor resources...there's label.dll instead...
Tomorrow never comes....
And, I might add....Setting up and running Component manager, and downloading a nice new Windowblinds, installing, and then adding a couple of my skins has been the most pain-free part of the whole procedure to date. I honestly think a few more people/companies could learn a thing or two from the machinations of Stardock.... So far...one memory dump....thanks to ICQ2000b locking up....my fault, t
Well..I'm in Aussie, using Visa, and having no problem anywhere around the world.... [this comment brought to you by Visa...hehe]
Cyg....I'll do all that when I've finished all the tweaks....still heaps of stuff to do...
Maxim...you are correct...but if you keep on correcting me I'll stop promoting your proggy....hehe...
Well....I finally managed to find them....and I personally didn't moderate those, but would have. Simple photos of pretty faces in bluish greys don't require a great deal of expertise to replicate. Were the photos taken by yourself and submitted to a photo-art collection, maybe the response would be different. However, pretty girls they are, successful wallpapers?, maybe not....
Well....I just got myself a new graphic card which DOES have Win2K drivers...not generic ones, so I figured I'd re-install 2K and get the benefit of a more stable system, now that one less device driver was likely to cause grief. So... New drive caddy and old drive...bye-bye to ME...reformat.... Installed base win98... Added 2K for dual boot.... Loaded graphic drivers...Resisted temptation to push monitor to 2048x1536.... Oh how ugly the Exploder shell is.... Not one
