If Win 12 is soon to come out that will mean I will have totally missed an OS [11] and that'll be the first of all of them that I simply didn't bother with since the days of Dos...;)
I remember back in 1973 in a hotel room in Paris playing Poker with a bunch of fellow Architecture students all on the same OS trip...drinking duty free Johnny Walker and worrying about the cost of the coke.....and I argued that someone owed me 5 Centimes that he hadn't paid in one hand..... ....then I woke up that 1 Centime was 1/10th of a Cent back than ...so I was worrying about a half a cent. Stardock's 'Start" series of programs are not expensive and never have been.

haircat1 there's definitely something wrong as you show as a 'Current Customer'. You could try logging out of any/all Stardock sites, clear cookies and login again. Otherwise...do as basj suggests and give it a little time to be replied to [resolved]...;)
Life goes on. In 2009 that Firehouse was still closed as so many of them were lost. In 2015 we were again in NY ...stayed in a similar location. The House was back in operation.

Yes, if it's taken that long it's having issues reading each block. Copy/paste everything it has listed to a second drive...chances are the bad bits won't have much on them anyway....;)
Yes, you get about 40% from the quick...but it's the slow bit you need to wait for.....;)

Needless to say, important 'stuff' should be on daily backup to a secondary drive...and even then perhaps weekly to a tertiary one [redundancy backup]...;)
One important point when dealing with any attempted recovery....never delete or move anything...only copy the files found...and obviously never back to the damaged drive/file system. Every overwrite is data loss...;)

Yes...you won't be able to boot if the MBR is corrupted and it'll read as 'empty' - no sign of anything on the drive. If you're running 'Recoverit' it'll list the drives for you to choose and it'll start scanning....can take hours though...;)
If Windows shows the drive as 'there' but not formatted and allegedly empty [RAW] Wondershare will get the data. Not all of it as some will show up as 'unknown.jpg' or similar meaning part of the file descriptor is lost. Mine was an 'only' drive...so the OS was on it...and toast, but the User data was still there...and that was all I was after...;)
I probably need to add...this is for drives that read as unformatted...as if there's no data on them....when the MBR is lost, etc. If a drive has mechanically failed...ie platter doesn't spin and/or drive heads do not move then the recovery cost will be measured in $1000s and doesn't always work anyway. Surgical reconstruction of a drive's mechanics is a whole different kettle of fish...;)

Wondershare Recoverit will read the entire drive for recognizable files and enable you to offload them to another drive. I've just done that on my sister in law's machine...that was likely spiked...as the MoBo is toast and the drive was RAW. It's not entirely silly to spend the money on the proggy...as it actually works...;)
